Just so you all know, I work for a similar company as the people who called all of you about the Vietnam Vets. It's just a crappy telemarketing company where they hire ANYBODY to make calls and make a few bucks here and there. You guys probably got people who weren't very good callers (obviously) and they didn't know what they were doing.

We received a call from this number yesterday.

Same experience. No msg. left. I callled back immediately and was told the number had been disconnected.  Immediately?

I CALLED THIS NUMBER BACK AND A GIRL ANSWERED AND SAID "I DIDN'T CALL YOU".  I SAID I HAVE RECIEVED CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ALL WEEK.  SHE SAID I DIDN'T CALL YOU!... SO THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL AND IF THEY ARE COLLECTING FOR ANYTHING...I ADVISE YOU BE VERY CAREFUL!!    IT IS A RESIDENDTIAL HOME NOT A BUSINESS!!1

I just had the same experience.  I called back within 2 minutes, and the recording said the number had been disconnected or is no longer in service.

Very similar to others...  We received a call at 8:15 from this number.  They have called us several times a day for the last several weeks.  I picked up today and disconnected them.  They called back immediately and the phone rang once.  Less than five minutes later, they called again.  When I answered, they asked for my husband by first name.  I asked who was calling, and they said "Illinois Vietnam Veterans."  I told them they could not speak with my husband and told them to remove us from their list, and that they were interrupting our dinner!  They did not say anything and I hung up.  I am very upset with this situation, as they call us daily!!!  I hope it will stop now.

At 4:30 the phone rang until the answering machine picked up.  They then hung up and immediately the phone rang again one time and then disconnected.

Same thing happened to me. I find it very annoying and rude. Thanks for all the info. from the past. I agree it's probably a scam.

same thing happened to me when i tried to call the # back...saying disconnected or no longer in service.

thanks for the information everyone and yes, it's terrible making money off the Veterans and hope they are caught and prosecuted.

I received two calls from this number, both times I wasn't home... 4:47 pm 11/23 and 7:49pm 11/21. They didn't leave a message either time. The two times I tried to call back, they were disconnected. It's says Lake Forest Illinois on both calls.

Just receieved a call, the person was asking for my friend who used to live here.  When he asked for the other persons name, I informed them that they moved and no longer live here.  He stayed silent.  I said to the guy, there is no one by that name that lives here, he then came back with a rude comment "Well of course not, you said he moved!".  He didnt bother to identify himself at all until I asked at which point he said his name was "John", never informed me who he was from, but rather stayed silent on the telephone. I then hung up on the guy, he has not called back (yet). They call me at least twice a day.  I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST, how can these people call me?

They just called and couldn't pronounce the last name. Could've been a guess or honest attempt, but since it was so hard to understand them, we just hung up. Somebody catch this company. Please

We got the call too :P I work for a telemarketing company and I know my Illinois law well. They have no right to call your home at any time unless you approve of it and if call volume continues at your home you have every right to take more action! Personally I'm ready with my phone voice recorder and a lawyer so this company better hope they know their stuff and is ready for legal action to come their way. See ya' in court BOYS! I urge the rest of you to put your phones on speaker during this phone call and make a recording of every word these skammers say so we have full good evidence of what is going on.

same as everyone else, they called and we returned the call 5 minutes later and a recording said the number was disconnected, how can you have just called, at nite mind you a its off?

We received a call from this # also, asking for my husband, called right during the time when the average working person is getting home  (5:30) CST.  I thought it very rude to ask for my husband by name and not identify who the caller was.  I told them he was unavailable at the time and asked who was calling, it was the Veteran's to collect $$. I recommended that they call back at a more convenient time that it was a time when people were coming home from work, getting dinner ready, etc. The caller, who did not idenitfy himself by name, was very RUDE and said, it's always a convenient time to collect $$ for a vet. While I appreciate all our nation and past military persons have done to protect us, I thought this was very unprofessional and I will NEVER donate money to this particular organization.

i kept saying Hello, Hello but no answer, so  I hung up.

they have called twice and my mom has told them i am not at the number they are calling, so i am not sure what is going on

This person has called a few times and is looking for a donation for the Vets.  He is rude and will not stop calling!  I would like to file a complaint.  I have asked him not to call each time he has called.

i got a call from them and answered it.  they say they are a charity called illinois vietnam veterans.  i had to say "hello" about 3 times before he answered me.  then he asked for a person who doesn't live here anymore.  when i told him that he asked if i was the head of the house, i said no.  he got snippy with me saying "well you LIVE there don't you?!"  i decided to find out who this guy was.  the guy told me they help homeless vets but was very vague about how they help.  he was high pressure about getting me to agree to send them money.  he said they would send out a packet and i would have 2 weeks to get the money to them.  i told him i always check into charities and usually give locally so i know where my money is going.  he gave me an 800 number: 800-379-6730 which he said is in downers grove, il.  then he went back to pressuring me to agree to send money.  when i checked into the charity and the 800 number it turns out it may well be a scam.  apparently the company doing the calling is being investigated.  here's a link to one place that has some information:

it disgusts me that they try to make money off the veterans.  there are plenty of local places where i can give money to help veterans.

this is most likely a scam.

I just got a call like this too, did a reverse phone look up and couldn't get anything, said it was a land line and unlisted.  Was silent at first then when I said hello 3 times, they asked for my husband by his first name but it just sounded like some guy calling, did not seem to be professional.

Ive had several calls from this number..i dont get what it is...no one answers when you pick up and say hello...

Weird.  Call this number back and get a recording of "this number has been disconnected or no longer in service".  How can that be when just 20 minutes ago they tried to call??????
