Foriegn voice stating he was from uk dept. of finance so cut him off straight away.

I had a call from 00225 6800256 and they were lucky to get a very friendly response from me, I could her it was long distance, they rang off...I wondered if it was a freind in a phone box but clealry not.

Thank goodness you were sensible enough to realize that there is no such thing as the "UK Department of Finance"

Just had a call now from 2256800256.
Claimed to be calling from 'UK Dept of Finance' and wanted to refund some money to me. I informed him I was registered with TPS and when I repeatedly asked for his name and contact details he became abusive and hung up.
Unfortunately the TPS remit does not cover scam calls.

keep getting calls from this number,usually line goes dead when I let answer phone answer, when I answer get Asian man asking about Bank refunds, suggests he tales a walk

iI got a call from an asian guy saying he was from uk financial services,and was paying back bank charges.    When i said i would not be giving him any bank details as he should already have them he told me to f o and get off the phone. Nice guy not.

17 year old daughter got a call from this number. After a few 'who are you' questions she was asked 'are you still a virgin?'. Would love to get my hands on this guy.

Looks like this one is still going, unfortunately my mum fell for it, and we've just had to cancel her card.  Lucky for me I answered the phone on the second call, where the guy denied he was trying to pay money into my parents account, and (after I abused him for being a scamming scumbag) informed me he would charge the card £200.... He said he was based in Eastbourne, and I should go see him personally (for some hand to hand answers no doubt) although more abuse was thrown at me when I said I'd meet him at the police station.

Call to-day from this number long winded about re-paying bank charges back into my account. Asian woman said I will pass you on to my senior and I hung up. They called back the woman again asking that I would speak to her senior, I said I have now got your number and was reporting this to the police. She was shocked and asked how I got the number I said it came up on my phone and they could expect trouble. If they ring you say you are in the police force it gets rid of them!!!!!!

Just received 2 calls fron 2256800256 no one spoke. Also 2 calls from PPi every day surely this is harassment. What can be done??????

My partner had a call from this one the other day. About bank charges, no less... he hasn't paid any in years!

Was called today by a Asian sounding chap and i had a couple of calls in the past from a similar number so I just took the p a little, great fun. Its a scam btw

asian chap very friendly .... scam trying to get your bank details for supposedly a utility bill refund...tell him send you a cheque because he will already have your address ...and then don't hold your breath .

Definitely an Asian based scam.

They claim to have a refund of bank charges from over 5 years ago and want bank details.

They hung up when I said I didn't believe them!

Have fun with them if you have the time/inclination just don't give them your bank details.

PHONE WENT DEAD AFTER I HAD ANSWERED IT

Asian sounding man who gave an English name. Couldn't understand him and when I said so he hung up.

Same deal - asian sounding guy, calling about bank charges i'd paid - hung up on me.

This telephone number phoned saying I was owed money back how would I like it paid straight into my bank or by cheque they knew I had a card with HSBC and knew first 4 numbers and my name and DOB, when questioned he hung up beware of this scam and fraudster!

This number called my landline and asked for a someone who I have never heard of, when I said there was no such person at this number and where did they get my number from the person at the other end just started laughing... very strange indeed.

Called today Fri 13th! Beware, some scam

This telephone number phoned saying I was owed money back how would I like it paid straight into my bank or by cheque they knew I had a card with halifax and could give me the first 8 numbers of the card then they asked me to give them the rest of the numbers so I could verify it was me they also wanted to know my date of birth I asked them to send paper work to confirm they was a real company he said he needed my details so he could confirm it was me then he would give me a password to send me documents  DON'T FALL FOR THIS ITS A SCAM if it was real they would write to you remember people don't really phone you for this sort of thing pass this message on to everyone don't let scammers trick you fight back ....

Called by number - line went dead. No such number.

Called today, no-one spoke when I answered.

Just had a call from some Asian sounding person claiming that  I had paid bank charges in the past and these were to be repaid to me , i said " No thank you " and cut him off !!!!

Received 4 calls today, first three were dead on pickup, fourth call some "asian sounding" guy talking about money to be paid in to my bank account. I suspect the usual scam to politely said FO

Rang me, when I answered, no body there?

Called today, lots of background noise like a call centre but no one spoke and then line went dead.
