I understand that people will start a business in an effort to make money... that's what I'm doing! I'm trying to make money... anything contrary to that is something I usually avoid. It would seem to me that hiring direct callers to make calls all day long to sell your wares, only to present dead air to the person naive enough to answer your call, would be a bad business decision! I'm trying to conduct business and these guys tie up my phone line and make it difficult by consistently calling me, hoping to sell me a service, and then not responding when I answer the phone! Really? I understand there may be some difficulties involved with synchronizing your robo-calls and VOIP systems, but give the small businessman a break, will ya'? Whenever I call a client, especially cold, I greet whomever answers the line, identify myself, state my reasons for calling, and ask to speak with whomever it is I'm looking to talk with. Pretty simple really... maybe it works for me because I provide/sell REAL services/products that could be of actual benefit to my clients and I'm not just looking for a CC number. There's nothing more irritating than stopping what I'm doing to answer your call and you present silence.

DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY ITS A SCAM COMPANY

They called me -allegedly- from this yellow pages look-alike company,Real Local Pages, they are not the yellow pages, they tried to get my payment information by asking for a $5.00 one time setup fee. I told them to send a bill or get lost and I hung up. The website is set up to look as much as possible to the yellow pages reallocalpages.com, HOWEVER, I could not verify that the caller was from the the same people as the reallocalpages.com. This could be a very clever scamer trying to offer someone else's services without even having a relationship to them. They were very good, they almost convinced me but they overplayed their hand by offering first page listing on google for $5.00 and free for 6 month ( I knew that was a lie).

I called these people.  Press Zero and ask for the owner of the company as someone suggested.  I spoke with a rep named Brenda and explained to her this is my cell phone and not a business.  She promised to put me on their do not call list.  Only time will tell if these scumbags do or not.

I have gotten three calls today from these clowns, whoever they are.  The caller ID shows RLP and the number 231-732-2364.  When I answer, silence and no response.  I tried calling the number and got a disconnected message, which sounds like a recording they put on the line.  The interesting thing is that I am supposed to have an unpublished number, but Comcast must have sold my number to a marketing firm because that is the only way they could have gotten it.  I receive multiple calls from various scam artists (Including YP), but this is the most obnoxious and persistent.

My office gets calls from this number on a regular basis.  We make a habit of not answering calls that do not appear to be from clients or potential clients, allowing the answering machine to answer those calls.  The caller always hangs up, triggering and auto response from answering machine.  Very annoying.  I followed one responder's suggestion (below) and submitted the number and my complaint to the FCC.  I suggest everyone do the same.

EVERY Morning i get a call from these fools on my business line.  I dont answer the non local calls as they are generally telemarketing POS companys'.  Yesterday i ansered it hoping to yell at someone to stop phoning me every morning.  But it was dead air, then disconected.  SIGH

Today when they called i sent it straight to fax.........GO AWAY!!!

this number, 2317322364, is a truncated number that only does outgoing calls according to my Verizon rep. Contact your provider to put a BLOCK on this number for 90-days at a time.

I told them I wasn't interested and to never call me back. They did a couple of hours later. When I asked how my "potential customers" were going to find me, they tried to keep glossing over the issue. I wouldn't let up, and eventually they hung up.

231 732-2364  is an outbound number only.
If you try and call it, You will find they have a disconnect recording for you.  
If you need to contact these bums call the real inbound number.

Caller ID says RLP - something about yellow pages - when I called the number back a recording tells me that it is not in service.  They have called a number of times.

I just got a call from these jerks. Caller-ID: RLP 213-732-2364

After a few seconds some guy asks for the manager or business owner. I say I am the owner, but hear nothing more from the other end and about 10 seconds later he disconnects. He sounded terrible like he's on one of those oversubscribed VOIP systems that never works more than about 50%.

I get more hangups than legitimate business calls these days. I don't know WTF is up with it. I just got Caller-ID a week ago to see if there was some pattern to it and surprisingly, most of them come up with numbers, but it is never the same one twice. The MO is the same, I answer, there's 5-10 seconds of dead air and they hang up. This has been going on for a couple of years now, but has doubled in frequency in the past couple of months. I'm really tired of it.

When a call comes in I immediately mute any TV/MP3/video, put on my bluetooth headphones that I use as a headset and I bring up my virtual terminal credit card processing browser window and login before I answer the call because it takes so long to login and bring up the page that I want it ready by the time a customer is ready to supply their payment info so I don't have to keep them waiting. I'm scrambling to do this before the third ring. Then I get dead air. I have interrupted whatever I have been working on, which is often some sort of complex programming in C, Javascript or Perl, and there's nobody there. I want to put my hands around the responsible party's neck and choke the life out of them.

This number calls me at least twice everyday! I simply don't pick up because one time I answered, the lady asked for the person in charge so I just pretended to be under 18 and said my parent isn't home. She rushed off the phone..this is a scam big time. Just reading these other posts.

Called today and started by saying they want to validate my business info for yellow page listing.  It turned into a "then you want to know how to save money on credit cards, would you like to have access to cash, we can upgrade you to platinum status for a one-time fee".  

Would not stop pitching even when I told them conversation was over and sorry to be rude, but I was hanging up now.

It is some company that wants to save your business money in credit card fees and also pay for some kind of business listing with 30 days for free

Calls our office 2-3 times a week.  I can see RLP on the caller ID but I have to answer because it is the office phone.  Its always dead air.

Caller requested accounts payable, he then requested credit card info for payment for yellow pages ads?  We have never had any yellow pages ad. and never will........ I receive at least two request from yellow pages each month from different parts of the country for payments for ad's which have never run.. Yellow Pages is a SCAM

I have spent hundreds in the past on these yellow pages ads that i did not remember ordering.
They threatened me so i paid. never again.

I keep getting calls from these peckerheads.
