got a call from +2392204061 its also seems to be a scam

I too getting miscall from +2392282711 this number since last 3 days. Whenever I picked up phone, he/she cut the phone. I didn't call back as I know that the call charges will be very high as one of  my friend told me.......but how to get rid of this?

Exactly the same number miss called me this morning at 8:16. Creepy much?!

I got a missed call from +2392204069 I rang it back it cost me a lot of money and I heard a voice of someone like crying

Mine was 2392282711 as you can see, different number but from the same country. I am in S/Africa and this is not the first time they are calling my line. It is a scam!

Early in the morning around 4am i got a missed call from +239 988 3023 here in Dubai. I think this are the same scum...

Nope also Denmark - i don't get how they are able to charge when you recall - ..

Got a response back from the communications regulator Com Reg. Impressed by their swift reply. The more people that notify them the quicker they prioritise blocking the number.

ComReg has been made aware that mobile consumers have very recently received and are receiving calls from international phone numbers commencing +23 9XXX XXXX.  We understand that these calls may not be genuine and therefore Comreg  is investigating the matter in accordance with its powers under Section 23 (2) of the Universal Service Regulations.
I would advise you not to return the missed calls to phone numbers that begin with these numbers or to answer them, particularly if you do not recognise the number calling , as you may incur significant charges.
In the event that we can block these numbers I will note the particular number calling your father.

I got the same missed call today at midday and I did a search and saw the same as you...Scam

Just got a missed call too, it rang once and I googled and got me here. Thankfully I had no plans to ring back. I am a vodafone customer too, very strange indeed.

I also got a call on 08 april 2012 at 12.45pm. I didnt answer as I was out but I had no intentions of ringing back luckily enough. I am also on the vodafone network.

Just got a missed call from this number, it rang once and then hung up. Googled the number and got here, thanks for the explanations all! won't be ringing it back!

My 70+ year old father has just had this scam done to him. Yes, also in Ireland. He called me as he is deaf and poor sighted so he thought it was one of the relatives being attacked when he rang it back. It is a sex line.

I've rang vodaphone.ie and they told me that this no. is targeting Ireland all this week. It is a scam - a programme will generate automatic numbers and dial them. Once the call is answered (or not) they will slam the phone down when you pick up. If you ring back you get charged loads - got to wait 24 hours to see how much due to a delay on Vodaphones charging system.

Ya I had a missed call +2392247496 at 16:01 on the Vodafone Network I wonder is their anybody you can report this too so other people do not get caught I put the number in to google and got the information here.

Same number called me at about 3:30 today.Didn't answer it but I heard its a scam from an island called Sao Tome and Principe off the African coast. Are they just calling Irish numbers?

Got one today 8th April @ 14:44 on my mobile in Ireland. I didn't answer as I was out but I'm not going to reply either, I expect the charges would be very high. This reminds me of a scam in USA New York I think, where a delivery man took flowers into a large office building saying they were for a Mr or Ms X. When the receptionist said there was no one there by that name the man said it must be a mistake in the flower shop and asked could he ring to see if he got the delivery address or the name wrong. If the receptionist gave him a phone to let him ring he would dial a very high priced premium line which he was involved with and which charged 1,000's of dollars a minute. His job then was to spend as long on the phone as possible.The companies only discovered the fraud when their bills came in weeks later after the operation was closed down. As far as I heard this led to a restriction on the creation of very expensive call lines in the US. I thought it was one of the most ingenious scams created. If people would use this creativity towards positive outcomes the world would certainly be a much better place.

Correction - that code was +239, not +232 as I stated. Again the calling number was +2392247496

I'm in Ireland and this number appeared as a missed call on an Irish Vodafone subscriber. Call was at 11:40 Sunday 8th April 2012. Didn't try calling it back, instead I did a little research. +232 xxxx-xxx is the calling syntax used in the tiny island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe, a south-Altantic state that won its independence from Portugal in 1975.

Most likely the call did not actually originate from this location, however if one were to call, I'm certain it would be rather expensive.

Had a missed call from this number rang it back and it went straight to what sounded like a baby making noise. Try rining it back on the landline and it said the number you have dialled is not in service. Robbed credit off me too, the b*****ds!

This is a scam if you ring this number back you get through to a sex line and you are charged big money for it stay away
