You need to change any and all passwords, they probably got all your info. And its hard to say , but they may also have placed malware on your computer also. If your not tech savvy, then you might want to take it in to a real tech and have it gone through just in case. If you are savvy, then run your antivirus, and also download malware bytes and run it.  You can file fraud with your CC or bank on this. One important thing to remember if these losers have any of your personal information such as your social security number, date of birth or drivers license make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!

There is no "Terry Herwig". These calls are not from Florida. The number - like many others used in telemarketing - are "spoofed" meaning they do not exist. This is a scam from India that comes and goes. I believe it was first tried in the UK. Like other posters said, they scare unsuspecting people into thinking their computers are malfunctioning, they have them download malware which allows the caller to take control of the computer . . . and the person's credit cards, bank acccounts, well, you get the picture. My wife got a call just a few minutes from someone with a heavy Vietnamese accent and played along with it. He told her to go to her computer, turn it on, they do a certain keystroke sequence. Then he asked her: "What you see on screen?" She replied, "Hmm, looks like a Vietnamese name - Phuc Vu!"

Received call from this number.  Name that showed up is Terry Herwig.  When I answered, no one responded.  I looked for info and learned it is switchboard for scam.  Am now aware in case this number calls again!

He must have gone all around his list. 1st call a few weeks ago. Another today.

A call showed up on caller ID--Terry Herwig, 239-948-0869.  Left no message.  I googled the name and saw all these messages about this person, apparently a con artist.  So if you see this number report it.

Got call and they never spoke -- just breathed into the phone.

He called with and Indian accent.  Wanted me to pay $50 to fix my computer.  I told him to call back when I get paid.  He did, but before I gave him any information I called him back, and the number is wrong or disconnected.   I tried 3-4 times. Herwig, Terry 239-948-0869.   SCAM!!!  He has not called back!!

I get same kind of calls from this number too, but tonight was first time it came up with Terry Herwig on caller ID.  People that used to call were lot more persistent on getting into our computer.  The guy tonight gave up real easy.  Must be training in a bunch of newbies.

Computer scammer. He said they received a report that my computer was running slow. I told him "b***s***" and hung up.

I wasn't home.  If I get call back from Harry Whatshisname I'll answer in Japanese until he gives up and hangs up.

Foreigner called trying to scam us. He said he received an online report that said my computer was running slow. Yeah, I just fell off the turnip truck, moron.

I got the same call three times called it back no one answers and finally someone spoke to me about the same computer scam that my system is running slow. I told them we do not own a computer lets see if they call again.

Got a call from this number. Said that it was a Terry Herwig.  I do not know this person so I did not answer.  Looks like I made the right call.

I have been getting this call...I always hang up on the guy after he states he received a report my computer is running slow. I'm thinking how in the world did you receive a report that I didn't make so I immediately hang up. I decided to google the number because yesterday this person was so persistent. Every time I hung up he called right back several times until I finally asked how he had received a report that I had not made and he replied that I must of clicked on a link that triggered the call. I politely said "I'm now going to click a button that will trigger a dial tone goodbye." I'm not very surprised to find this thread because I knew something just wasn't right about the call. I'm now going to report this as well.

We got a call from this number 239-948-0869 Terry Herwig. Claiming to be investigating a problem with our computer running slow. My husband quickly gave him a fake accent back and said he did not understand we don't have a computer and hung up.  CLEARLY A SCAM!!

Have received a couple of calls from 239-948-0869, and the ID that shows is Terry Herwig. I did not answer either time, but tried to immediately call the number back after the second call, and got a "this number is out of order" recording. Tried again to ensure I was dialing the correct number, and got the same recording.  We are also on the DNC list, and it does no good. It's a good thing I can't get my hands on the people behind these calls!  FYI - You may purchase a DIGITONE CALL BLOCKER which will block up to 80 numbers and is easy to install and use. I got mine on Amazon, but there are probably other places to get one. It really does work (and no, I don't work for Digitone or anyone associated with them).  August 3, 2013

Got a call about my computer running slow.  Said no, they had the wrong number.  "Oh, God!" the guy said, and hung up.  Tried to call back at the number on my caller ID, but "this number is not in service".  Are they somehow spoofing the caller ID?

239-948-0869 - Terry Herwig - claims he received my computer was running slow, I informed him it was not. He than began asking me questions like my name, what I do for a living and how old I was I told him it was not his concern and to have a nice day. When he called back my husband answered the phone and insisted on talking to me and my husband then started questioning him and he hung up about 5 minutes later, he called back and I answered explained to him if was to call my number one time I would report his number to the Salem OR police dept. and have not herd from him since. I was very polite with him but I stood my grounds.

Got the call but being an IT security manager, I didn't fall for it and immediately googled the number and found this thread. I'll be making a formal complaint.
