This is an Identity Theft phishing scam - they tell you it is for an Extended Car Warranty, once they get your Credit Card number they charge thousands of dollars on it. They did NOT "GET YOUR NUMBER FROM SOMEWHERE".  It uses a sequential number Auto-dialing computer (Calls EVERY phone number by adding 1 to the previous phone number) and is run by criminals.... they could care less about the Do-Not-Call list.  The phone number seen on Caller ID is "spoofed", which means it is not the number from which the call was placed - they just pick some random number to use when the computer dials the calls.   In all probability, the calls are coming from Russia,  Nigeria or another one of the countries that are known for email scams - IT IS THE SAME PEOPLE that send out Email phishing scams!  The worst thing you can do is answer, that validates your phone number as a "real" phone number.  It is then added to a list that they originator uses REPEATEDLY to call you... and then it is put on a list that is sold to other scammers (criminals, really) at a premium price, because it is then on a list of valid cell phone numbers!

I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I googled the number and it came up with Pamela Banks 2655 Hunt PL, Waldorf MD 20602

Just got a call from R. Smith I have no idea what about we haven't rented a car or anything recently but I have gotten those calls before about extended car warranty which I got them to stop I hope its not starting all over again.

No answer, no message. Multiple calls.

The called ID showed R. Smith.  I did not take the call, and they did not leave a message.

Got a call today from "private caller". As soon as it stopped ringing it rang again twice and the caller ID read, Caller ID: 240-210-7077, Caller: r smith.
Then two seconds later it rang probably 24 times with the same ID# info. So I googled it and found this thread. I did not answer the phone. But I felt it was suspicious.

I called it and I blocked my number but it still new the number I was calling from. The only 2 options were 1 if this is the number you calling from and 2 if it is a different number and enter the number. I also researched it and again its a scam type to get idenity. The name on the caller is is R Smith & the number is 240-210-7077.

it does no good to file a claim with the do not call ...so much for the government!!!d4j9

Im so tired of receiving calls from this number ...I have filed a claim with the donot call but to no avail...

I too have received numerous calls on both home and cell phone.  It is ridiculous.   I have asked several times to be removed from their calling list.   I even pressed on the number pad and received a voice recognition that I had been removed from their calling list.  But, guess what, the calls have not stopped.  
This morning I received another call from this company.  I pressed one again and spoke with a customer service representative.   I questioned what does do not call me stand for.  He told me that I was rude and called me a (rhymes with witch).   I told him I was reporting this to the BBB.  His remark to me was good luck.  Since that call this morning, I have received 3 more.  When does it end??

I bought a truck over three years ago that was previously an Enterprise Fleet truck. I have been getting these calls every sence. I want it to stop. Let's send our bills for the time they have taken from us to the Attorney General and see if that helps!!!

annoying woman wouldnt listen to my request to be removed from the list so i googled the address. came up 2655 hunt pl waldorf md. maybe their state police should check it out????

Files need to be updated with their Blah! Blah! Blah!

FTC should go after these people & shut them down.
Also have them pay a hefty $10K fine for each call.
They bother the many hard working descent innocent.
It's just terrible what they're doing.

I just got a call from R Smith. Glad I didn't answer it! I hope these calls don't continue and I don't even want to call back b/c I don't want it to continue. Ugh.

I just got a call fro R. Smith a few moments ago. The same Indian voice spoke to me. I asked how they know what type of car I have. They hung up. It seemed to be a fear reaction. I was getting too personal and could have a brain that could find something out about their scam. Like one comment said: I will use my caller ID next time, and if they call 1000 times a day I won't answer it and laugh at them. Let them call. Just don't answer it if you do not recognise the number. If enough people did that they would have to stop. At least the theory works well. Now lets put it to the test.

I called it back and a recording of an indian woman asked me "What number do I want to move?"

WTF?

I got a call from this number today.  I am not even old enough to rent a car, so obviously my info never got out that way.

I reversed the number and googled it, it comes up with the name Pamela Banks in Maryland, a 67 year old woman.  R smith does not exist.  I don't know how these guys are doing it, but they are.  Wish we could go back to the dark ages when all you had to worry about was being robbed at sword-point..  lol.

Just got a call from this number. Didn't recognize the caller ID so I didn't answer and no message was left.  I googled the number and found this website. A few days ago, I started receiving calls from something that said "Auto Warranty" on the caller ID.  I never answered those, but now reading all of these posts, it leads me to believe that those calls and this one are obviously related.  We don't rent from Enterprise, but did rent from Avis last week, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the calls starting or not.

We already have the power - most of us have caller ID. If you don't recognize the number or name don't pick up...period.

I  got the same call They left a message saying my car warranty has expired. As with the other post I have also rented a car from Enterprise.

This number keeps calling and leaving no messages...I called back and got a recording asking me if this was the number I wanted them to call back ..I dialed random numbers and hung up!

Just received a call from this number; when I picked up, there was no sound from the other end, and they hung up on me.  I called back after looking up the 240 area code online (Maryland), thinking it may be a friend's number that I don't have yet, and that we got disconnected by accident.  I got some strange recorded message that told me my OWN phone number, and then asking me to press 1 if I wanted to do something to my phone number.  I hung up.

I googled the number and got this on Google's phonebook directory feature:

Sounds like a scam to me.  >:(

called 5/9 at 1136 hrs... callerr id showed CELLULAR CALL ... wife answered adn it started ato spiel about auto warranty.. she hung up...

I got a call but no message left. I do not have a car nor have I ever rented a car from Enterprise.
