Got the call...fell for the ploy.  We won't be having anyone cleaning our carpets.  Any real place would allow you to call them back and cancel.  I guess they will waste gas getting here.

Company is RK Industries, which has an F rating with the BBB for not responding to a complaint.  I asked who had entered me into the grocery drawing, they said a computer!  I'm on the do not call list, I'll be filing a complaint with the FTC (already done it at the BBB, which has a report which says they've had complaints like mine).

Caller tells me I have won a preliminary prize of free dry cleaning of two rooms or two pieces of furniture. The drawing the the big prize will be on April 26th. When asked how I came to have won I contest I did not enter, she told me I was randomly chosen among home owners in the area. She wanted to have the cleaners come the next day, which I did not want. I told her if I did indeed win a prize to call me after the drawing, which she said I would have to use the winnings on groceries.

I got a call from RK Industries at 602-773-5590 yesterday but was busy so I did not pick up and thought that was the end of it. Not so lucky, apparently my 80 year old dementia suffering father answered the phone but I did not know that until today when a woman called, asked for my father by name, when I asked "who is this?" she said she was calling to finalize an appointment for carpet cleaning. I told her "that's OK, we don't want it. She said, she would call back and talk to him as he agreed to the cleaning....I told her, I got a bit flustered and said, "look my father has dementia" she had the nerve to say, "no he does not!" when I started to respond I realized she had hung up the phone. I immediately called back and each time the ringing phone would suddenly be disconnected like someone had picked up and hung up the phone. That happened 3 times and on the fourth attempt a machine picked up and I left a very clear message that if they called here again I would call the police. It sounds like this company handles much of their communication with the public by simply hanging up on them. WOW

Received call from this # - I do not answer if I don't recognize #. If they don't leave a message, I figure it's a sales call. If it's someone who really wants to talk to me, they will leave a message.

Said they would clean carpets at no cost. We would then rate service. hey never showed up.

Reporting to the FTC

Got a call from these bozos on my land line today (which is on the national Do Not Call list) from a happy sounding lady telling me that I was entered to win $1000 of groceries and I would be notified by phone and mail but I would have to buy food from it, nothing alcoholic. Right around that time I was able to get a word in edgewise and asked if she could put me on the do-not-call list. They disconnected me by the time I had finished my sentence. I put the number on my call blocking service now.

"Teresa" called yesterday on behalf of RK Industries, said as part of their market research, they wanted to come vacuum 2 rooms, weren't selling anything, just wanted to get my evaluation.  After checking online, I called her number back to cancel (the 5594 number), and got the message that the answering device was full.  I tried calling several of the numbers I had found online: one was disconnected, at another a man answered and said they didn't do business in NM (he was at the 623- number).

I too had my number listed on the do-not-call list.

I'm calling my neighbor who is a nice young policeman to alert him to the scam.  We will not answer the door if they show up tomorrow.

I am so glad I saw your post with a phone number to call so I could cancel my "carpet cleaning".  I was so stupid to fall for their speil!  I feel alot better now that it is cancelled.

ADK Marketing, they are located at 2953 Indian School Rd. Phoenix, Az 85017.  The main number is 1 602-526-9586 also 1 602-265-1268.  The owner's name is Cameron C. McDaniel. I just got off the phone with Mr. Cameron C. McDaniel at the 9586 number he informed me that he is in no way affiliated with Mr. Burkhardt. He was cordial and apologized for the call I received. Mr. Burkhardt was not and went as far as calling names that were extremly vulger. He does know Mr. burkhardt by name and seemed upset that the two were connected by this site. Either way both companies are violating the do notcall list.....

I just spent the last 10 mins tying up their phone lines by calling them and asking them not to call. each time they would hang up. its a free call for me on my cell i just use *67 so they cant call back. It may sound childish but if we the people can cripple their phone lines for just a short time they might or might not stop what they are doing. It sounds like they are currently under investigation by the Arizona AG's office. Also if you do wind up looking at the blogs here there are lots of good contact info to report these scumbags, so please REPORT them they can and will recieve fines for their actions.

Eagle American is run by a guy named Don Burkhardt, who's operated several different Kirby distributorships using different business names. His phone number is * 67 623-869-6444, just tell him his firefighter buddy sent you I left the guy pretty up set the last time I did what they do to the public.  ;)

Kept getting calls - don't answer them.  Tried reverse lookup and got the location but nothing else.  Typed in the phone number in my search engine and found this site.  Lots of info - thanks to everyone.  I added them to my call rejection list.

Keep getting calls from this number. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. Caller Id says out of area. They don't leave a message.

I got a call from these people too, saying I am in a drawing for free groceries and that I had won a free carpet cleaning for 2 rooms.  I agreed to the carpet cleaning at first because they said it is "free", but have since thought better of it. However, the phone number was blocked, so I had no idea how to get ahold of them to cancel.  I didn't realize it is a scam until I found this website.

Thank you for this information.  I just got the same phone call 2 days ago. I have been trying to find information about them online since then, but the only "RK Industries" listings I could find were for maufacturers of auto parts or of industtrial pipes or pipe parts.  Thank you for the phone numbers so I can call them to cancel the "free" carpet cleaning.

Like the other posts here, said it was in regards to a grocery entry. Was kinda pushy about wanting to do a carpet cleaning/ furniture cleaning. Did not say product was Kirby only that they do market research. I signed up for the cleaning but promptly called the suggested number ending in 9586. Guy said would take me off list and cancel the appt. I hate feeling "taken" or fooled. Gotta remember to just hang up on these people and not continue to listen.

Too many scams going on.I am on the do not call list but still keep getting these stupid calls. Do Not Call List is worthless.

I also received a phoen call from a lady named Melissa stating that shje represented RK Industries and that my phone number had been chose to receive a FREE carpet cleaning and or a FREE sofa/love seat cleaning.  When I asked her if this was a Sales pitch, shed stated "no" and that the company was testing out a new product and there would be absolutely no cost or slaes pitch. I reluctantly agreed to allow them to come to my home.  I later changed my mind and decided to call RK Industries and cancel.  After making several attempts to call 602-773-5594 I got a message stating the the mailbox was full and could not receive any incoming messages.  I then cam on this site and leared of another number for the Manager of this company.  RK industries has now changed their name to Eagle American Kirby and the manager's name is KIm.  Her number is 623-869-6444.  Thanks to all who've posted these comments and I hope these comments will prompt these people to stop their scamming.

These people tried calling twice today, they have really poor phone quality and I could not understand what they were trying to say each time. Glad I came here to find out what they want, if they call back again with crappy connection I can just tell them no thanks.

Same as all the above with "contest winner" free carpet cleaning, chance for $1000 of free groceries. Never entered contest, spoke with husband who didn't know and said they could come, tried to call number 602-773-5594 and couldn't reach live person and mailbox was full. Scam, but got out of it with the help of calling 1-602-526-9586, thanks to to blogger above! I will report this to our better business bureau. If they had just said, free cleaning if you let us demonstrate the Kirby vacuum it wouldn't have been false and you could say yes or no to the real story.

yep!  they asked for someone else which I told them they had the wronge number. Then came oh will it's yours now. Wanted to clean carpeting told them to bad have tile and wood flooring and I was not interested then lets clean sofas chairs etc. no it leather. Then how about the beds they need a cleaning still saying no they already had an appt. told me what time the guys/gals would be out, being very bossy  I  told them no one will be here except mean cattle dogs  who would put them in the bull pens and keep them there untill we got back. We are on the do not call list some how they always get around it.

The gentleman did an excellent job on my carpet and couch.  He was very polite and personable, not overly pushy as a salesman.  Overall a very pleasant experience.

ADK??  I've been getting these calls from RK Industries, so I decided to answer it this morning.  The lady didn't introduce herself, but preceded to tell me my name was picked out of a drawing for dry cleaning up to three room of carpet.  I told her I was not interested and to remove my number from the calling list, but she continued.  I told her I do my own carpet cleaning and wanted to know what kind of machine I had.  It is none of her business and I told her to STOP!!!   I was to the point of using some choice words.

This person called, asking for me by name. Without telling her who she was talking with,  I asked "who's calling please", she said "RK Industries". She asked for me by name again, and I asked "who are you and why are you calling?".  She said, we'll try again later and hung us as I was telling her, "Don't call back."

So, I went online to find out who the the number 602-773-5594 is attached to and found out it is RK Industries, and all sorts of people had complaints about this "number" and "reps" calling them.  

I also am on a "do not call" list and find it irritating when you ask them how they got your number and they tell you, "It came up randomly".  That's a big, fat lie.
