I got several SMS from 247478, first I was amused, then very much annoyed
those messages come from text4peace and are unsollicited
beware, they do not invoice the first messages, but they do so after several sendings, it cost 0.50 $CAN per message (my provider said that they invoice it though them)
as soon as you receive this junk, send back an SMS to their number saying : STOP
and call your provider to check that you have not been invoiced, if so, refuse to pay, as you did not subscribre for anything
those guys are crooks underneath a cover of "msg for peace"

I keep getting this message and it is charged on my cell phone bill.  Needs to be removed.

Though message is very nice would like to know who it is that is calling.

Well I dont care how 'Nice" it was!! I dont appreciate getting a "nice" call or any other call at 1AM!!

I got a call from this number and it was a male with an (Indian?) accent asking for my husband.  I asked who was calling and he repeated his request to talk to my husband (rather rudely).  I told him my husband was not here and asked if I could take a message and he curtly asked when he could call back.  No twee "angel" messages here - just a rude little man.  We're Comcast subscribers.  800Notes site has a few posts about people who have recently donated blood (we have not) and have family in the hospital or a recent terminal diagnosis. My husband is a physician, so there might be some connection there.  At any rate, if they'd called to thank us for some non-specific action, I'd be suspicious.  Especially since they won't tell you who they are.

I got the same message yesterday. Strangely enough I rec'd a certificate in the mail for volunteer work the same day. As I was reading the comments something occurred to me, I wonder if there is a business website/phone number for people to call and put your number in to receive the message?

Got the call today. I assumed it was related to a crisis yesterday that occurred in a volunteer group in which I serve. I thought it was nice that somebody wanted to affirm me and was concerned that I might be doubting my worth at this time. If scammers can use the phone, why shouldn't those who only desire to bless others do so also.

I got the same call. The only thing I know to do is to report it. If "not paranoid" thinks everyone should take a chill pill then why are you reading this site?

Got the call 7/11/08 - told me I was appreciated.  I am also on the Do Not Call list

I got the same call today also in the Houston, TX area. Too odd. Might be an autodial to see if a person answers to to if people are home. Yes, I am suspicious of calls coming from offshore.

I am trying to figure out who this call came from too.
Would you all reply and let me know 1) do you live in the Houston area? and 2) Is Comcast your phone service provider?

I got the same call too. Kinda weird, but it was a nice message.

I got the call also (live in Katy/Houston)... the message came at a time of family crisis which from another website the call came when other people were going through rough times.  

As to the country code for Ascension Islands, if the number was a country code, it would have the country code, plus area code, plus the number.. not the area code & number. I lived in Bolivia for 2 years and our number with the country code was 51-95-52755 or something like that.

I personally thought it was a sign of good faith & a call from God.  247 doesn't exist & neither does the phone number... God works in mysterious ways and many have found comfort in the message. One person wrote that the number equaled 71 7 which is the divine number... kinda strange either way
