Called the number back---got the usual busy signal.

Could this be the latest number being used by Ran David Barnea of Boca Raton, Florida?  For years his companies have artfully exploited loopholes in the law that allow them to place false telephone numbers on caller id's after they use computers to place calls about various scams they offer.  Do an internet search and see for yourself.

They called and said they were calling from "computer support" or something like that. I was hard to understand through the Indian/southern Asian accent. He kept saying they were from "computer support" and asked if I/we had a computer. Every time I pressured him to identify who he/they were and why they were calling I could hear someone in the background, as if prompting the guy. Then he would repeat the spiel. They got tired of getting nowhere and me rudely mocking their accent.

This number, 248-666-0001, appears on Caller ID as Waterford, MI.  The man asked for a relative, and my telephone number is not in that person's name.  I know this is not a debt collector, as we have none to be collected.  The man identified himself and the company but slurred to make it difficult to understand.  I did hear the word "Dealer."  The only other thing he said was, "This is just a courtesy call."  Then he hung up.  When I called the number back I received the recorded message that the number had been disconnected.  I don't even have a real number to report to the Do Not Call Registry.  I hope they burn in hell.
