Just got the same exact txt as indicated above from this number.  I'm just ignoring it.  Thanks to everyone for pointing this scammer out!

Texted to find out if my craigslist item was available and when it was they wanted personal information

Exact same for me.  I asked if he was Muslim and i texted I skull f'd allah akbar

I got this response and responded with "This is an undercover operation. We have armed men surrounding you. It would be in your best interest to surrender at this point. I am instructing you to calmly walk out with your hands on top of your head."
And they responded " FU ASSHOLLE"

Ha ha.  They wanted my PayPal account to pay for the car I was selling.  I text blasted the number for about 30 minutes.  It's too bad people try to do this stuff but you will always have losers out there.  Be safe - R

OMG, person won't give up and they are using word for word everything William typed above.  I told them to leave me alone or I would report them to the police and they still texted me.  I'm ignoring now.  Definitely 215-387-2485 is a SCAM.

I just received the exact text, word for word.  Replied back, "You're a scam, Later"!   Thank you for posting your text.  It helped me.

I have gotten this text messages from this number now, just now, and thought to look it up. Thank you all here for sharing, as I feel compelled to the same.
This individual is using the name Mark Smith.

He is asking,
"Do you still have the item as listed, and is it available for sale?" and, "What's the present condition, please get back to me ASAP Thanks." and, "I will not be coming to view it because of my job, I am a Marine and I am buying this for my uncle. I am at sea right now and am satified with your firm/advert price, as am requesting this transaction should be done via Paypal so the Paypal charges is on me and Payment will be made via Paypal (if you don't have an account, its easy, safe and secured just log on."

This person, insists on my payPal information to first make his payment, then schedule pick-up of item, as he states, "I know there are scams online, but I assure you I am a verified payPal member."

I replied for him or his uncle to pay at time of pick-up.

This person insist that I open a payPal account, so that he can make the payment right now!

Really? Smells rotten..

GETS YOUR NUMBER FROM CRAIGSLIST ADS THEN TEXT YOU TO ASK IF ITEM AVAILABLE.  IF YOU RESPOND THEY TEXT BACK WANTING PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!!!

IF YOU DON'T THEN THEY TEXT BACK WITH FOUL LANGUAGE!

BEWARE OF THESE TYPE SCAMMERS AND REPORT ALL OF THEM!!!!
