Whenever Dytel calls, tell them, one moment, then lay the phone down and leave it. This at least ties them up for a little while before they bother someone else.

I worked for the company called Dytel Its ran by a man called Randy King and managed by a man called Ed Doby and Tyler Bice as well as Randy Kings daughter, he is co-owner of this company It is a legit company but just like one person stated on here the split is 85 to 15 or 90 to 10 depending on what fund raiser they are calling for. In lamins terms the higher percentage goes to dytel and the rest goes to that charity they call for they buy list from the phone company as well as cross your names from one orgnization that you may have given to in the past. If you give to any kind of charity no matter if its dytel that calls or someone else your known from then on as what called "A GIVER" that means they cross your number into every charity that is legitimite to get you to give to them as well. They hire mostly school kids or jailbirds that are on probation to help them have a 2nd chance they are very good people and try to help everyone but as far as the business end of it I got away from all of it due to the fact I didnt like the split between the charities and the business. I started my own company doing other things away from the telesales world. They use whats called a predictive dialer which automaticly dials your number from the computer program/data base. its mainly a person sitting in front of a cpu with a head set on waiting on the dialer to get somone on the line and they read a script to you and try to get you to donate. u never donate over the phone they always agree to mail you out something first and you mail your donation back in the return envelope. another company called poag based out of hoover by the comedy club does this as well but they only call for peace officers of georgia. and only call in georgia though. its managed by a guy named brad durham and johnny mortin. dytel calls through about 4to 8 different states for aprox 7 or 8 different orginizations. they get the phone company they use to change the calling from numbers on a reg basis to keep the caller id showing up different stuff in the hopes the people that stopped answering certain numbers will pick up if another number shows up

I have requested that Dytel,Inc. stop calling my home number. Now I get calls from 615-942-2244, 256-585-6235,895-686-6664,423-822-5185,901-881-7953,205-623-1244 ALL WITH THE CALLED ID OF DYTEL, INC. It seems as soon as I told them to stop calling they began calling from every branch!!! I am sick of them and would NEVER give any donation to ANY organzation they represent!! Dytel you need to stop calling you are only hurting anyone you claim to be raising money for! I refuse to answer any more of your calls. The public is not stupid Dytel--have you not heard of caller ID???Get a clue and leave me alone. I will continue to report you and if anyone knows of a better place to report Dytel, please put the info out there for public use!!!!!

I live in Birmingham. Received a call from 251-633-3831 and my wife answered and they hung up. I called back on my cell phone using *67 and it went straight to voicemail, saying "This voicemail box is full, please try again later".

My wife answered the phone and it seemed like they weren't expecting anyone to answer because one was calling another a dumbass. Then he asked for me, and she told him i wasn't there and he immediately hung up on her.

This is one of a myriad of calls from Dytel, Inc., claiming to be in support of some form of Law Enforcement group. They are completely BS -- a major rip-off, as I get hundreds of calls from a variety of these idiots every month.

I worked for Dytel Inc a number of years ago, and while the company is legit, and I do mean that it is no scam. They do keep a high percentage of the money donated, let me explain to you that this is not abnormal. Even Non-profit organisations spend money on things other than there cause. In example, Bills, and the pay of employees, If this company calls you and you want the calls to stop, just ask them to take you off of their call list, and they will do so, I assure you even though they may call you more than once, this is because your name is on multiple lists. Don't complain about this split though. 90% 10% is what is the normal split for every company that raises money for other non-profits. So keep in mind that if Dytel raises 10,000, and that non-profit gets, 1000, thats 1000 that p[ace wouldn't get, now I dont work for these types of companies anymore because I wasn't happy with that, but it's just the way it works. the best way to donate to anyone is directly through there website, and 100% of that still doesn't go to their cause. But like I said, everytime one of these places calls you, ask to be taken off of the list, and this may take 10 to 15 times, but you will stop recieving phone calls. as for people using foul language this is because they employ scum of the earth, no joke, druggies and high school kids...but you can have your name removed from there database

I know the professional fund raising business in and out, and have ran several offices myself. The actual charities that the company raise funds determine the percentage breakdown of the money, not the solicitors. The donations DO GO to the charities, and then the charities cut the fundraisers a check for the labor. The company really only profits a small percent after overhead. For example, if United Way wanted professional solicitors to raise money for them, they would tell the company how much is expected for them and how much is for the company. NO CHARITY in the world uses 100% of the money for the cause, unless you personally went to a homeless veteran on the street and gave him/her money. A charity is just a business like anything else...

Wife got a call from this number, asked for me by name, when she said i wasn't home, they hung up immediately. i tried to call the number back but went to a voicemail. if they ever call my house again, they are going to get an earful of language like they have never heard before, and i hope they give me more than 10 seconds before they hang up because i will get in every 4-letter word i can think of in that time frame

i am on the national donot call list because i work night swing shifts and i sleep at weird hours. i keep getting woke up by hangup calls from this number. i guess that they call my number before they check to see if it is on the donot call list and when they see it is, they hang up. when i try to call the number back my call goes straight to a voicemail with a message saying "This voicemail box is full please try again later". i guess i am not the only one trying to call them back and tell them to stop calling me. i googled the number and here are a couple of links about "hang up" calls from this number.

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-251-633-3831
isn't hangup calls considered a nuisance call? isn't there any laws against it?
i'm going to report it anyway. they keep waking me up. below is the link to report this number to the federal trade commission.

Got a call from 251-633-3831 tonight at 5:18pm. Was outside at the time but number was left on caller ID. After looking up the number on GOOGLE, I saw this site and saw how many of you have stated that they have gotten calls claiming to be from Alabama State Police. In the past week, I have received numerous calls from an 800 number that shows up as Alabama State Police on caller ID. I do not answer calls anymore unless it is from a number that I recognize. The telemarketing calls in the last two months at our house has gotten obsurd!!!!!!!!!!! I get atleast 10 a day and sometimes as many as 14.

The exact incidents happen to me. I wasn?t at home at the time when this guy asks for me by name, my wife stated that I wasn?t home can she take a message. He stated that he was calling from Alabama State Police and he will call back. Called the number several time and received mailbox full. This have been troublesome to me, so I prompted an investigation and find that other have been a victim to this madness also.

Has called several times from three different 251 numbers. Hung up on my
secretary at first and then asked for me by name and when questioned by
secretary, he said that I had applied to do extra work on the computer.
My secretary told him that she knew who he was and had pulled that number
on the web and that they were already in trouble. After calling back three times and demanding to talk to me, she said " look, you *&%**#&&#
foreign idoit, do you understand english? Call this number one more time
and the FEDs will be on your *&**##%* doorsteps!! Now, do you understand
that?" Hasn't called back.
