Just wanted to share with you that I received a text on the 5th of June 204 in response to a room for rent in Ottawa, Canada from (850) 366-6910 asking me to forward details about the room to aysaralee4@gmail.com. This was odd because the details of the room were in the ad where my number was listed, implying she already had the information she needed.

Subsequently, I emailed a link to the add and asked her to follow up if she was interested. To this, I received the following, including a picture of an asian woman:

I just call my bank ...I give her all my information yesterday ..transit ect...and I just read this..oufff my bank are putting a high level security on my account until I go change my account number. she is sara lee from Singapore she said...and even send a pictures.

I'm glad I found this site. Did not lose any money, as I kept replying that I needed more information and references from her to be able to rent her a room. I did give my address so she could check with her movers for a moving quote. I don't think that she can do anything with my address/cell no./email address, it is on kijiji anyways. BTW, she said she was going to work for WestJet, lol. Did not get any calls from her yet, ill see how far she goes to reach me again. I'm a Property Manager renting various properties and strongly suggest that you deal with LOCAL-meet in person kind of replies, and once you have made contact and exchanged a couple of emails, request "call for more information and to set up a viewing" that usually stops there, and no more emails.  It also goes the other way, people are scared of scams when renting a room as well.

via text in the middle of the night regarding about the kijiji ad.

I just got a txt from 973 559 7258 looking for details on my rental , which was fishy since the details are in the ad. She asked me to send an email with details to aysaralee00@gmail.com. I thought is was odd so I googled the email address and found these posts. Glad I did. So she's still at it and using a new number. Beware

I got the same email too. I was lucky that I got a scam alert email a day before, so I am aware of these kind of email.

It is a scam.  Don't wire money.  I have submitted a fraud claim and the local authorities are looking into it now.  I don't know anything about "Danny Ragers" other than if you send money to him thinking you will be repaid, you won't be.

I was wonder if you knew any more information about Danny Rages? I am looking into subleting housing right now and the owner is using that name and the same instructions to wire money via "western union" in Paris Danny Ragers. I haven't given my money or any personal information. I want to be sure I am not going to be scammed. If you have any information concerning this name or person please let me know.

@ Bri, I'm in the same boat of you.  I didn't find this until after she got my money. Now I'm out $882 (+$40 transfer fee!) and no one to sublet my room.

Have you all filed fraud/criminal reports?  I have with my local police station, (Halifax, NS).  if not, you should.  Especially if she's still active, people need to be warned.  More needs to be done so this will stop.

Perhaps if we share what we know about "her"?  She had me wire money via Western Union to the "mover's headquarters" in Paris.  A guy named Danny Ragers.  
I called Western Union and they were able to find out the money was picked up at Kin Change, a Western Union agent in Paris.  They apparently have his International ID card number and address.  
I filed a police report last Friday but haven't heard back with any new info.

I got this exact same thing, word for word. Unfortunately I did not find this website first and she got my money. I've never used Paypal before and so I thought everything was fine. Silly me. Now I'm out a lot of money and don't have someone renting out my room!

Got the same text message from person named Sara. Her cell number was 360-589-5946. Plot was totally the same. She asked about room I rent out and said that she was chef on cruise. And she will pay 3 months rent thry paypal.

I am very neat and tidy person that respect humanity and this make it so easy for me to get along with whoever that comes my way in life.I'm originally from Singapore but will be coming to Canada from my last place of employment in Italy. I will be arriving on 10th of March and stay more than a year in Canada working. I will be transferring the rent to you through PayPal and if you do not have one kindly set up an account with them in less than 5 minutes on www.paypal.com. I would have requested for your bank details but for the safety of you and I with giving bank details online, I prefer going through PayPal. I will be so happy to secure the room as soon as you get back to me with the PayPal name and email. I will like to pay in advance through PayPal and my reason is that, I will be presenting the proof of my rent payment to the immigration at the port of entry into Canada.

I got the same, first a text message from this number then it's all emails. she (sara!) or he wanted my paypal name and email. I asked a friend first and they said it's unlikely to get ripped off using PayPal but I was still suspicious giving the fact that the emails seem to be standard format scammers usually use (bad English, they are willing to pay whatever amount and yes they cannot receive calls!). the email address is aysaralee00@gmail.com and yes it's fraudulent: DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PAYPAL NAME AND EMAIL TO SOMEONE YOU DONT KNOW AND DEAL LOCALLY.

I had a room for rent on Kijiji & they responded to that ad.  I received a text & then corresponded thru emails. They ask for info from you like your address so that they can figure out how much it's going to cost with the movers as they say they are moving to Canada & working on a crusie ship as a chef & they send a pic of some girl with the email saying this is them.  They then sent an email saying that they had to pay using paypal & another one the next day saying they were having an issue with sending money to the mover & said that they would send the extra $882 plus $100 for other charges onto the amount of 3 months rent that they were sending.  I then received an email that said it was from PayPal that said Money has been sent.  I logged in directly to my paypal acct & not thru links.  the email said it would take 3 to 5 business days & when it didn't show up in my Paypal acct I got a hold of Paypal who check the ID transaction # & it was fraudulent.  Good thing I did not use any of my own $$ for anything but I was concerned once they had my name & address so I contacted Equifax & Transunion & put a possible fraud alert on my acct's so that they have to get a hold of me if there is anyone trying to get credit.  I also notified the OPP & the fraud unit as well as should everyone else who gets this kind of thing.  PayPal & the authorities are investigating
