Same issue here. MSC-DEP and I am also on t-mobile.  Just got done talking to a rep and they said they have a ticket out about the issue and are working on it.  Only way to stop it is disable your texting for the time being then reinstate it whenever they finally have this figured out and over.

Hello there I'm submitting this info as an FYI this company called a client requesting Bank acct. info which this client provided.  Than the company called back and requested that he wire money them via Western Union. The client had already notified us immediately and we put a hold on all outgoing transfers and closed the old account and opened new accounts for him.  We left the old acct. open and put a hold on all transactions and today 9/28/09 we received an EFT request from a company called Pay-less medical for $297.67 we verified with the client if the charge was authorized and it was not.  We attempted to contact Pay-less Medical with the phone # that was provided with the EFT and it was a third party customer service company for Pay-less Medical, they informed us that Pay-less Medical contracts with them for customer service and that the company also contracts with a Outsource company in India for their sales and that they should not be representing themselves as providing grants as they are selling a product.  They provided us with a fax # to submit complaints and info for investigations into the practice of the Outsourced Telemarketing Company, now this fax # is for the third party customer services company and they informed that there policy was to investigate the telemarketing agent and that they policy was to immediately have the Outsourced telemarketing company agent fired for misrepresenting themselves. We at the bank rejected the EFT and informed the customer service company of that rejection.  The fax # for all complaints is 1-866-8141-4698 please send all complaints to them also contact your State Attorney Generals office and the FBI, and if you are the Federal Do Not Call List to also file a complaint with the FCC.  We advise DO NOT EVER GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT INFO, INCLUDING ROUTING NUMBER ACCOUNT NUMBER AND OR DEBIT/CREDIT CARD INFO TO ANY COMPANY CALLING TO REQUEST THIS INFO.  Any rebuttable company will happily have you call the customer service number you have for them and if the need the info you can provide it to them, but always call the Customer Service number you have on your bill or the number located in your Phone Book. If you accidently give your account number or see any unauthorized charges immediately contact your bank.    Also we have tried to research the information of the Telemarketing Company @ Phone # 253-785-0194, however so far I just keep getting hung up on as soon as I have more information available I will update this page.

Same old song an' dance... indian guy calls last week and says he is from a "US Goverment Grant Division" and he would like to congradulate me for recieving $5000 in gvmt grant money. All free money... no fees... no charges... nothing on my part. He already had my full name, address, last 4 of SSN#, Bank name, and account #. He told me someone from verificaion was gonna call back in ten minutes to verify the the first rep spoke to a real person (me).

Guy 2 calls back... sounds just like guy 1. And told me he just wanted to make sure Guy 1 wasn't making a fake phone call and collect the money for himself... blah blah blah. He put me through an automated machine that said the same thing he just did... then at the end gave me a verification number. He told me someone from US bank will call me in the next day or so and all i had to do was give him the verification number as my autorization for the transfer of funds into my account... both numbers were a 206-445-**** something number....

Four days later (today)... i got a call again (not US Bank) another indian/middle eastern guy.

NOW... i need to pay $495 to Western Union as good faith gesture back to the government for giving me money.... i said i'm not gonna pay money to recieve money... then he tried to say as a favor to me he would drop the charge and all i needed to do was pay $99 to recieve $2500 then i can use that money to pay the rest and get the other $2500... again... not going to pay money to recieve money...

He told me if i could find a way to come up with a huunderd bucks... just call him back at 253-785-0194... he'll "work with me" to make this all happen... load of crap. says his name is david and is now calling for Government Grant Department... changing the story

the number on my caller ID was "3" just three. this is nothing but a rip off and some people are dumb enough to fall for this stuff. don't ever... EVER give away your info. Don't even verify what they have... or correct them with wrong stuff make them change your info... good luck and keep them back.

Called me on my direct workline, which I have no idea how he got because I only give that out to clients. Most calls here go through an 800 number. He had my direct work line, address, and first and last name. Told me to call Peter Johnson at 253-785-0194 and gave me a confirmation code of TR143. Made me repeat all this back to him. When he started asking for my date of birth, I refused to confirm because I told him I didn't know if it was a scam. I hung up on him and googled the number and got this page. He called my workline from a local area code, but the number on my cell phone was just *20

I did confirm my address because it was a P.O. Box I use for public, on-line transactions.  But I refused to give him any other info.  I said I didn't know him, he could mail it to me.

It's the same scam. Every time I asked a question the phone was "breaking up" and he would call me back.  He asked from my birthdate, I refused.
He was difficult to understand. The number shows as a local T-Mobile number which I'm sure is not where he's calling from, but he told me to call him back at 253-785-0194 and I could verify with his supervisor Roger Davis.  He said his name was John Davis.

Obviously a scam.

There is a scam using a local number (not the actual place they called from) that purports to give you some spending money at Wal Mart.  Of course, the scam is they want to bill you for $2 to get it.  Right...
They actually will give you Wal Mart's headquarters address.  I just looked it up myself and called Wal Mart and confirmed it was a scam.  Crazy world.
