Appears to be a long time scammer number that was used periodically.

Did not pick up and caller left no message on 5/8/2014

I don't recall who they said they were but they
"Desperately needed $200 for Bibles to send to Ukrane."
I already give money to American Bible, so I declined.
She wouldn't take "No!" for an answer, which to me screams of a scam,
so, I hung up.

These are scammers.  You should complain to the Ohio attorney generals' office or your states' AG.

I, like the rest of you, receive these calls all the time.  Our government is WORTHLESS when it comes to blocking these calls.  The only other course of action is this:  

Do NOT, under any circumstances, answer a caller you do  not recognize.  When you do all you are doing is confirming for them that they have reached a viable, working number and then they WILL call you back AND sell your number to other scam artists so they can call you too.   If they continue to call then first, check with your phone service and see if they have a call blocker service (mine does).   If I continue to receive calls from a certain number then it goes onto my "Blocked" list.  

Also, just pressing 1 or any number they say to remove you from their list is also a scam.   It doesn't work either.   Also, I turn off my answering machine when I am home.  If it answer then once again it only confirms the fact that they have indeed reached a "Working" number.   Have a pleasant day.  Sure am glad too for websites like this.

Who is calling me for this number 513-229-9279 & doesn't leave a message...they just hand up??

I just got a call which I will add to my block list.  I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone  Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.  If other phone models are connected you will still get the first ring on them.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.

why do we ever report these numbers ?????? nobody does anything about them !!!!!!!!

Caller ID showed OHIO but since I know no on there--and I didn't recognize the number, I refused to answer it.

IF everyone has Caller ID, then what would happen IF NO ONE would answer these calls ?  Suppose they would finally quit calling people ?   Best reason to NOT answer one of these phone calls.

Well, its NOT the ACLJ.   Their number is:  757-226-2489 / 1-800-296-4529.  Instead I think it is a Credit Card rate scammer.   "Toady" wrote it was Care International", but - I don't know.   I have gotten several calls from this number, but have not answered a one.  I have even turned my answering machine OFF when I am home.   Why?  Because these low-lifes are just trying to obtained viable working numbers that they can use or SELL to other low life scammers.   Your best bet is to NOT answer any of these calls.   IF they persist, then either check into a phone that has call blocking or check with your local phone provider.  Mine has a blocking service.   The federal call blocking (Do Not Call list) is a sham too - just like the rest of our government, it too does NOT work !

I kept receiving calls from this number but I don't answer calls without caller ID.

My husband just got this call fifteen minutes ago. He too did not answer so I checked this site for info. Seeing none curiosity got the better of me so I called it back. This call was from Care International looking for donations. Because we make lots of donations to them I had him read back our personal Information. Everything checks out. We too are on the Do Not Call list but since we have a relationship with Care they can call. Also, for the rest of you on Do Not Call remember, you need to up date it ONCE A MONTH. I don't know why but it seems the list has a very short life span.

I have an answering machine so when unknown calls are announced I wait for my message to start. My message identifies our name and then starts with 'if this is a telemarketer, someone asking for a donation or a political call please hang up.'  For our friends or family .... It's amazing the number of hang ups I get after the first part of the message. I got tired of the telemarketers, etc. which we're causing me to try to rush and answer the phone. I'm too old for that nonsense. You all might want to try it!

Received this number immediately after I ignored another number because it was unusual - no dashes and too many numbers: 86282452253. I also ignored the one from Mason Ohio. No Voicemail either time.

My husband took this call and, upon being questioned, the lady on the other end finally said she was from Right to Life. My husband thanked her, but no thank you, and hung up. Caller ID said OHIO with the phone number.

We contribute to them, but disguising the source of the calls is irritating. Next time I will answer and tell them so.

Hello,  There are scammers that are using non-profit organization names, such as ACLJ & Jay Sekulow.  If you choose to support a non-profit, I suggest asking them to mail you something, rather than providing funds over the phone.

Just received a call from this number.  Didn't answer.  No message.

Same thing happened to me a couple of days ago with the same numbers.  I have a call blocker and have a list of 136 attempted calls that are now blocked, so the phone doesn't even ring when they call. Bad part is that all these clowns just keep getting new numbers that then need blocked.  I still get about 2 new numbers every week that I have to block.  Still, the call blocker has been very beneficial blocking repeat offenders, especially the ones that keep calling every day when you won't answer their calls. I have a Digitone call blocker and their customer support is very good but there are a lot of call blockers out there.

I answered the call.  They asked for my father in-law by name (he's 87 and has been in a nursing home for over 2 years). Said they were calling from "Care International" .  He hung up quick when I threw out "we have contacted our state's Attorney General about these phone calls"

Had a call from this number today. Didnt answer. No message. First time I remember seeing this number.

513-229-9279 called me today and 985-635-4267 called me yesterday. First call from Boston Nothing said . same with the 513 number. My Phone carrier will block these numbers for you, Call yours and ask them if you haven't already. Good luck.

just recieved call from this number and I am on NO CALL LIST. Irritating!
