Remove this number from your calling list
dawna 2013-03-23 16:39:20 Unknown
It won't, I keep getting calls like this from other numbers too.....Verizon lets you block 5 numbers for free.

Good luck with that. I've reported calls to FCC multiple times both using their website, and talking to someone in person. Of course, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes of getting through their asinine, stupid automatic answering message tree before you might, on a good day, actually talk to a live person! So with regards to actually enforcing the DNC list, finding and punishing these lawless spammers, in my estimation, the FCC is merely another worthless government agency.

please stop this spamming stuff surely is some better job these folks could be doing???

Sorry, it's difficult to edit on my mobile device. Here is a corrected verson of my comment.
Yeah. The DNC list is a scam all right. You really WANT the government to monitor all your incoming phone calls and only put through calls from people they want you to talk to.
The DNC list is a law, not an electronic device that prevents people from calling you. All the DNC can do is provide enhanced civil liability and/or criminal penalties to those who break the law. But you have to catch them first or at least report them to the government at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/Mobile/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2
Have you done this yet?

I answered a call from this number on my cell phone. It was a recorded message saying it was my credit card company and there was no unusual activity on my card but I should look into getting a low interest rate on my card. Since the message never gave the name of the credit card company, I assumed it was a scam and hung up. I have since blocked this number on my phone since I received another call like this one a month ago.

sick of this s*** they keep calling me and why? Its not like they could get money out of me. I hate f****ng cold calls.
Jbar 2013-03-22 17:21:49 Unknown
Here's what you do for your cell. Pick a unique ringtone just for spammers. Use that as the default ring tone so any unfamiliar caller has it. Someone I met downloaded a cricket sound. (Unfortunately that means you have to convert all your other contacts to a non-default ring tone.)
Then any time some new number calls you (default ring tone) just silence the ring without looking. If they really want you they can leave a message. You can go back and add the pesky caller's number to the "spammer" contact so the word "spammer" appears on your screen if they call back.
If you don't want to convert all your contacts to a non-default ring tone (it is a chore), then just have the "spammer" ring tone for the "spammer" contact, which means you'll have to look at your phone to see it is an unfamiliar number instead of silencing your ringing phone without looking.

If your answering machine picks up the call it tells them the same thing -it's a working line. The ONLY way I found to stop their calls was to answer and waste their time. Different ways to do that can be found on this site. Once the scammers find out they can't make any money off you the calls will stop, and they will move on to someone they can cheat.

Answered call this evening and nothing on other end.
td 2013-03-22 01:18:30 Unknown
Once again, these are computer generated calls to random numbers. They are "phishing" for your personal information. If you answer, that tells the computer that it is an active number and they will keep calling until they can talk to you. Whatever they are 'selling" is a scam. If you cell is a "smart phone" they will try and hack into it. Calling or reported to the FCC does no good whatsoever. First, don't answer. Next, contact your provider and they can block the number from your phone.

Got a cell phone call in the evening. Didn't answer. Blocked number with Verizon.
td 2013-03-22 01:08:12 Unknown
These are computer generated calls to random numbers. If you answer, they keep trying. The national "do not call list" is worthless for these because they are random. The only thing you can do is to call your provider to have them block the number for your phone. Doesn't mean you won't get others.

I had a missed call from this number, but when I went to call it back, no one answered.
All of the articles I have read tell me it's some spam number about lowering my credit card interest.. Glad I missed it.

For those of you that have your phone numbers on the do not call list, Obama made that do not call list worthless with his first stimulus package. Thats right folks. Obama paid hundreds of millions of dollars to independant companies and gave them a national phone registry that had all phone numbers in it, including the ones that were on the do not call list. This is what his stimulus package paid for. This is also why you still get calls even though you are on the registry.

I would like this caller not to call anymore. It is annoying if it is so important why they don't leave a message.

Got a call also from this number. No answer just blank. So he'll never hung up on em. Still blank been keeping connection opened now for 8 hours and still counting

I get these from time to time also. Do not answer the call. I did once and hung up immediately. If you are receiving them on a wireless phone, most smartphones have the option of blocking numbers (not sure of all phones). All you have to do is add them to your telephone's block list. I still get the calls from time to time, but it only if they use a different number. Hope this helps!

This number called me 19 March. Just noticed it today on my received call list. Never heard the phone ring.

Ha, don't hold your breath. We've all been on state & federal "do-not-call" lists for years, but these callers have no intent to cooperate with the law. Technology is on their side, as they can "spoof" someone else's phone number, hide their real identity, robo-call many people at the same time and change to a new number at the drop of a hat. DO NOT EVER ANSWER THESE CALLS [unless you have a lot of minutes and plan to f*** with them], DO NOT PUSH A BUTTON TO "ASK TO BE REMOVED", and DO NOT WASTE A LOT OF TIME trying to report them. You can identify spam numbers on sites like this, and it helps to warn others. It does help if you do report them to the FCC, then eventually they may have enough info to catch that perpatrator, but unfortunately....another one will just pop up. I recommend an answering machine to screen all unknown calls at your home, and a program like Mr Number to block them on your phone. Good luck.
