Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I am get calls from this number everyday several times each day sometimes 10 per day,and I refuse to answer the call. My number is on the national do not call list, but like most government managed programs it does not work.

Same thing as happened to Dee...It is not the first time this has happened.

Answering machine picked up the call.  First was a recorded message then a real voice.  It went like this:  Please hold for a very important message.  A representative will be with you in less than..."Hi this is Sabrina.  Can you hear me OK?"
Comes up as Virginia on Caller Id

They have been calling for the last 2 days.  Will not leave a message.  Today @ 12.22pm they called again. I did answer this time.  A female started asking me what my political views were.  I politely stopped her and told her we are not interested, and we are on the Do Not Call Registry.  I also asked her to please put us on their Do Not Call list.  I had hoped that would stop the calls.  NOT.  Same number called at 2:05pm and just now at 3:08pm.  She waits until the answering machine ends the greeting and will sit on the phone and say nothing for a few seconds, then hang up.  

We used to be able to do a reverse Phone Number for free.  But now you have to pay to find out who these people are.  We get more calls like this, more often than ever.  I think these people know that in reality there is nothing the receiver of these calls can do.  

I have received 3 calls from this number today.  The first I let the answering machine pick  up and they did not leave a message.  The second I picked up and it said a representative would be with me in less than 30 seconds. I stayed on the line for about 10 seconds and then hung up.  The third, I picked up, there was silence, and the call finally disconnected.

That was the extent of the message.

BTW this is the 5th telemarketer call I've received in the last week  and have had more calls this month (May) than since the 1st of the year.

Called at least 4 times today. It's a survey on who you would vote for if the election was held today. Caller ID says "Virginia".

Have gotten numerous calls from this number: 4 calls in the past almost two hours. The Caller ID just says "Virginia". Finally answered it but there was no one or nothing on the line, so I've blocked the number so that I won't keep getting disturbed!
