These scammers really need to be put a stop to.  I just wished that the FBI or the local police department would do something as a scare tactic to these kinds of people for them to see how it feels to scare poor innocent people in general.  The number that has been contacting me is 281-709-4187.  I am really getting sick and tired of these types of people who like to try and put fear in other decent people like us.

Now using (281) 306 0261, shows on caller ID as Splendora, TX. Main person is Alex Williams who claims to be from Houston Law Firm, yet can't give you a Houston number or address, can't fax copies of said charges, etc. this is a scam, don't give them any info.

I looked up the number to my local FBI Field Office, and got a name of someone there so when they called back I gave them the agents name and number and told them that it was my attorney's number. I haven't received a call back yet?

Hi I have been recieving calls from them too and they have been leaving me voicemails to call my lawyer asap or the police will come to my work and home and they knew where my home and work address was. I have had payday loans but paid them back or in the middle of payin them back. I phoned them back and they said that it was a company cashnet who owns all payday loan company and they put money in my account and never recieved it so are claiming its stolen and pressing charges. Is this a scam? Again indian accent too.

This is a scam. I now play with the bozos on the phone, I either pretend I want to pay or I cursed them out... Once I asked "Are you mentally retarded?" after I had repeated the same thing three times, the guy is like "No you are!" which only shows they're clowns and not lawyers. SSN investigation, legal filings blah blah..tell them you're going to check your local court filings and see...Once I had people like that calling me and hiding under the caller ID "FBI Detroit Field Office"...because we all know the FBI goes after people who didn't pay their illegal payday loans! LMAO....Don't be fooled people.

I have been receiving same calls..got me worried ,however ive never used payday loans ,so I know something was up! I called Houston law firm directly who by the way were very kind and explained to me this is FRAUD and they have had detectives on it.these people cannot be found as they are in india.please please please do not call any (281) numbers back!! or give them any info...all they need is for you to call them back and they got you!!! best wishes!!

We have been receiving messages from that number for a matter purportedly involving my daughter.  The same heavily accented woman has made most of the calls and she leaves a different name each time.

receiving threatening phone calls from this number; they are calling my house and my work stating they are an attorney's office but it doesn't exist.  It is harrassment and has got to stop

I am also getting a  call from 218-826-5235 on Oct 29, 2012. A lady saying your SS is under investigation, and there will be legal action, and its time sensitive. You will be contacted from an Attorney Andy Butler, To call back. Dont give your info. FRAUD

I have also been recieving the same calls about my identiy be under investigation due to legal action being taken against my name and social securty number. They even called my place of employment. It is very annoying and someone needs to stop them. I don't appreciate being harassed like that.

I recieved the phone call this afternoon from a man claiming to be alexander williams from Huston lawfirm. He asked for my lawyers information and claimed I was being sued by a fast cash loan company. I knew it was a scam because I have been through this before. I hung up, and he called back leaving me a detailed message with my address and claiming a sheriff would be coming to my door in a few days to arrest me. I contacted the actual Huston lawfirm and informed them that someone was impersanating one of their lawyers to collect money in this scam. He thanked me and said he will be doing everything he can to correct the problem.

I got a call from 281-826-5235. It was a man with an Indian accent and he said his name was Andy Butler from Houston Law Firm. He said we were being sued and he needed bank information. I told him to never call us again and hung up. A couple minutes later he called back and asked for my wife. He asked "have you not been notified about the law suit?" I told him to stop calling. He has not called back.

They keep calling me saying that I owe money to payday loans and Im being sued for bank fraud and money laundering. Its an Indian guy saying his name is David Smith. REALLY!!! I filed a complaint as well.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Received a call saying that they were from a local attorneys office( thought to myself it was local why is it labelled in TX) said that someone was taking legal action against me and that I needed to return the call ASAP otherwise the local police department was going to show up at my doorstep and supena me to show up in court. Didn't say what it was for nor what office he was calling from. Happen to google this phone # and glad I did because turns out it all is just a scam!!! Ignore any calls from this # or answer and tell them u have already reported them knowing that they are a scam hopefully they will stop calling

I have been called about every 20min since 8am this morning being told im being sued for a loan that i never took i have called my bank and will be contacting my local police! This is a fraudulant call DO NOT VERIFY ANY INFORMATION.

Threatening me and my family. Said they were from a law office but would not tell me anything else. Sounded like BS to me.

A private caller told me that I was being sued for a loan I never payed back from a company called cashnet and they said that they have all the evidence against me and that the attorney was pressing charges. I called my local police department and filled a report. dont verify any information with these people its a fraud.

I have been receiving these calls every 5 mins. from the phone number 281-826-5235 and I think he said his name is Tri Bolton but I can't understand him.  He says that he is calling from an Attorney's office but when I asked who's office he wouldn't tell me he just started asking me for my attorney's name and phone number.  I told him I didn't know who he was and what he wanted and please do not call me again and then I hung up.  About 5 secs. later, he called again!!  The last call he made said that the Attorney has decided to press charges and my local court house would be calling me in 48 hours and a local officer would be coming to my house if I didn't call back.  He also said that they would call my employer....the thing is I don't even work!!  I have contacted my local police and FBI.

The names that I will mention, are not there real names. These individuals are from India. A man named Jeff Martin and David Cooper called and said they were taking legal action wanted to verify my ssn (Which they had new) I did not or would not verify that information with them and they told me I had a Judgement againist me for money fraud... Told me to call this number 281-826-5235. I asked who did that number belong to, they said Houston Law Firm... Well, I called and spoke with Alex Phillip. I asked Alex, who's number did this belong to and he asked me who gave me that number??? I told Alex that I was contacting the FBI and my Attorney and will be filing charges and not to call my number again. He told me that they would not call me again and instructed me not to call him again either. Hour later, phone call from Jeff Martin... I explained to him that I have already contacted the FBI and my Attorney and I would be filing charges. If they call, do not answer, let it roll over to your voice mail and contact the FBI and your local police department. This was instructed to me by the FBI.

they called me saying they had legal action on me. it was a lie. they got all my information online. .i will be reporting them.

Somel lady call me with indian accent saying she going file legal actions agaist me, she didn't say for what,gave me a threat that she was going to call my job, want my banking information.. i'm definite going to report them, this is illegal what they doing...

"James Anderson" said he was from "attorney office" that they were receiving illegal applications against my name. My social identity was under investigation and that myself or my attorney better return their phone call or there would be legal actions.
