This number calls me, doesnt announce their business of the call, but requests me to verify my information.  i tell them to send a bill, since they must know who they are calling.  they hang up every time.

Received a phone call asking for ___ and I said he was unavailable. He replied oh, are you his wife, I answered yes. He stated he was from "HR" and said something about a health related issue, I have no idea who HR is and don't know what he was talking about. He went on and on, but I had no idea what he was going on about, but he wanted to "verify some personal information" and started out asking me for a date of birth. I replied, I am sorry, what is this about? He immediately hung up.

I got a call from this number this morning. They asked for me by name, but hung up when I said "this is he." I fail to see how this gets them anywhere.

it's a collection agency that doctors use to collect unpaid medical bills.

So I received a call from this number, but happened to miss it. And it's just as well, because I rarely answer calls from unknown numbers. If I don't know who's calling, I simply let my answering machine (voice mailbox) take care of the caller. If no message is left, then the call wasn't important, was it? The caller from this number didn't leave a message - no surprise there.

So anyway, I went online to do the whole reverse lookup thing using the White Pages. No luck. The number appears to belong to a landline. It says somewhere in Waldorf, MD, Charles County (though I see other MD locations listed above).

I didn't bother calling the number back.

Has called our number for several months.  Never left a message.  I finally picked-up and the caller wanted to speak with someone I knew.  I asked what it was in reference to but he immediately hung-up upon hearing my question.

This is either a legitimate bill collection call or more likely a scam collection call since the phone number always comes up as out of area, but my call-blocking software (phonetray) always indicates that it is originating from a local exchange.

Calls back to this number come up as "your call cannot be completed as dialed..."
