that number is a collection agency called CBD. i have a past due MCI account that went to that company. HOWEVER, my bill is from about 4 years ago, and somehow they got my parents home number, which is unlisted, and called them and released private info. i havent lived at my parents house in like 6 years, so this company seems to not want to follow privacy laws in order to collect debts. I am thinking I am going to file a complaint with the BBB because there is no way they could have known my parents info. Do research before paying money to these collection agencies. It wouldnt surprise me if these are scams. I talked to a lady when i called the number back and it just seemed like something was not right!

I have gotten the call a couple of times. I missed the first one, but I answered and held until someone came on the line. I asked her name & she asked if I was Ms. Fairley. I answered yes, who are you? She attempted to verify my address, but I refused and asked her again, who are you? She said Sandra, and tried again to verify my address. I asked her to kindly stop calling my number and I hung up. I called the number later last night and got the recording, but I can't the business name. I would really like to know.

They called me at 10:21. I called back and they had some old information about me. I followed the directions since im ready to take care of a lot of my debt but it was just a recording asking for some number. Probably a reference number but i dont have one and they didnt leave a message. So how am i supposed to take care of it if they dont leave a message with a reference number? STUPID

The message I noted from you and one other person, is from the same number that is calling me. The difference is, they are calling no less than 6 times a day. When I call the number back, it is automated and requesting an account number. Who would be stupid enough to enter an account number when you don't even know who's calling. After Google-ing this I will continue to ignore this number. Eventually, maybe they will stop calling my number. This started the beginning of March and is still going on, so far today they've called 3 times, but, it's early. 8=)

File a complaint with the FTC against them (CBE Group Inc)
They are in violation of MULTIPLE rules the Fair Debt Collect Practices.
You can file a complaint by going here:

They are constantly calling my cell to the point of harassment. They *never* leave a message. I tried calling the number back and got a generic "the voicemail box has not been set up for this number".
I guess I will have to report them to my provider and have them blocked. This is ridiculous.

I am also getting these calls twice/3x a day on my cell number Monday-Saturday.

If they can't leave a message with details don't call.

Also receiving phone calls from 757-990-8911...this one is out of Virginia. Very annoying. When I attempted to phone the number to see who was trying to contact me, I received the message " please hold for CBE"...I am not about to hold for anyone on my cell phone. I will be contacting the phone company to see what can be done to stop this connection to my cell number. I am beginning to think this is some kind of hoax or scam. I do not have any debt.

Cole - this number is from CBE - some debt collection agency in the Maryland area. They have been harrassing me by calling my cell phone on average twice a day since Wednesday 11/18/09. I posted my comments also under this number: 757-990-8911. I thought I was a victim of identity theft but I also checked my credit report and I am fine. Some idiot that has credit problems probably gave them a random number... and it happened to be ours! :( My cell & house numbers have been registered at the DO NOT CAll list since 2005. Anyways.. my cell phone has a reject call feature... so I added these 2 numbers.. but you will still be charged the airtime of 1 minute. If you call your cell company, they will charge a blocking fee of 4.99/month - which is ridiculous. I've seen other websites saying you can block certain calls but I haven't explored that arena since I don't have one of those 'high-tech' phones (blackberry, iphone etc.,..). Good luck.
