Got a call from this number. The caller I.D. app I have on my cell says its a Verizon Wireless number. So I'm no so sure it is Sallie Mae.

Have got numurous calls from my cell phone and i dont know how they have got this # they call all the time and im getting alittle sick of it

It is apparently someone in Newark, Delaware but I keep hearing it's Sallie Mae. Sallie Mae is in PA...not Delaware

If you can not find a job in your field, you can sue Student loan per a lawyer. At this point, I cannot even find a job in my field, but I do not have the funds at this time to pay the lawyer to sue student loan.  I can't find a job - period.

Even with bankruptcy, student loans still need to be repaid.  Those are the only debts not covered by bankruptcy.

As far as I know it is actually Sallie Mae / Department of Education ... if you need or want a deferment or forebearance on your existing student loans now would be a good time to apply .... you never know what changes may be comming in the new year ....

This number 302-283-2982 calls at least 3 - 5 times a day, sometimes even more, they never let up and rarely leave a message.  If they are Sallie Mae, they don't need to be calling me, I have NO loans and owe them "0".  I have a 37  year old son who has a school loan and who DOES NOT live with me - why they are calling me I will never know as they have his information.  They are harassing me to get to him I guess.  If they don't stop calling soon I may have to do something legally, which will be money out of my pocket which I cannot afford, but I cannot stand all the calls!

It's not an identity theft scam, it's Sallie Mae, which is a legit company. They may have the incorrect number, but it's in regard to student loans.

You are still obligated to pay back student loans after a bankruptcy.

The Sallie Mae Department of Education and Student Loans, phone # (302) 283-2982 has been calling me every single day since March 2012, asking for a Emily Umstead...that is not me, I have told them this, but they continue to call. they call all hours of the day, starting at 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. This is very annoying

And yes, as you would have guess it, these phone calls started up right after, you guessed it, april fools day.

The Sallie Mae Department of Education and Student Loans, phone # (302) 283-2982, has been calling me every day since February 2012 when I first got this prepaid phone. I have told them several times that I am NOT THE PERSON they are looking for, but they continue to call and harrass me. One time when I answered the phone, the person on the other end started hollering & screaming at me, telling me that I owe money. I am debt free, retired, 100% disabled veteran...the person that this caller is looking for, Kelly Umstead, is NOT ME. Please tell these folks to stop calling & harrassing me.

Sallie Mae continues to harrass me about repayment of loans while I am in a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

Sallie mae calls for other reasons also, not just for those who aren't paying their loans. I get calls from them letting me know when my loan has been transferred or sold to/ from another servicer, I also get calls from them when a large payment has been made towards my loan as well. Sometimes the calls are courtesy calls.

Sallie Mae has hundreds of phone numbers all over the u.s.  Find them on google. Call one of them or 10 of them and tell them to knock it off.......

I don't answer when I don't know who it is. If it's important, they'll leave a message. I lookd up their number, saw it was a scam and called them right back and asked for them to take my # off their list. He asked if they were asking for "so and So" I said IDK because I didn't answer. He said ok it will take 48 hrs tot ake your number off their list. I told him they probably gave a fake number. (which was mine)

It's not Sally Mae, this is a fake scam company who are pretending to be Sally Mae & The University of Phoenix. I am clueless as to how they are acquiring the phone number of people who have loans through these institutions but they get them somehow, One quick way to confirm whether a number is legitimate is to simply go to whitepages.com & search. This number is a mobile device in Newark. I currently have a consumer frauf attorney working against these people.

I have been receiving phone calls from Sallie Mae for weeks.  They were looking for someone who did not live here.  Just call the number back (302-283-2982) and ask them to remove the number from their list.

How the hell do you know that someone 'couldn't be bothered' to pay their bills? I'm tired of simpletons who think the only reason a  bill might not get paid is because the one who owes it just doesn't feel like paying it. never mind that they might have lost a job or been crippled in an accident, gotten cancer, etc. Too bad we don;t all have your stellar plan for managing life perfectly with no errors at all huh?

Sallie Mae/Department of Education debt collection. They were calling my newly assigned cell number to speak with some person who can't be bothered to pay their bills. Call them back at 800-722-1300 and keep hitting 0 until you get dropped to a live person and request that they remove your number... Unless you actually owe them money, then you should probably call them back and work out a payment plan because student loan debt does NOT go away...
