This number was reported in relation to a check fraud/wire transfer scam. DO NOT interact with this person. If you have and receive a check DO NOT cash the check or wire money. Once you  do so your money is gone. Again DO NOT interact with this number IT IS a scam.

I got the very same message.  It is absolutely a scam.

I received an message with that same number, with a similar message. I thought something was weird. Good thing I checked this page!

I called the number like y'all advised me to and immediately recording came on the phone that said, "sorry the call cannot be completed."

Okay, thank yall so much for the feedback I greatly appreciate it. I did not even think to call their number speed dial I definitely will tomorrow! Also in my email they sent me they right off the bat informed they were deaf and how they went about telling me went like this, "I hate to say this but I am deaf..." Now I am no expert but I took two years of sign language and one of the many things I learned was that people who are apart of the deaf culture in fact do not hate it and are proud. I also took a semester of psychology and the way the person went about it just does not match up.

Just be careful that they don't send you a wire/check/money order for more than the cost of the product - they'll ask you to wire the difference to their "shipper".  The shipper, is, in fact, working with the scammer.  See this link for more info:   http://www.hoax-slayer.com/boat-sale-overpayment-scam.shtml

Also be wary if the buyer sends you an email showing a Paypal transaction, making it look like the money has been transferred to your account - what scammers do is mimic the real Paypal and set it up so that when you click on the transaction link in the email, it takes you to a fake Paypal page.  To avoid this, you should log into Paypal by typing the Paypal address in your browser to access your account  - not by clicking on the link in the email.

I'm not saying this to upset deaf people.  I'm only pointing out that there are always people who will figure out ways to try to scam others.  Even if you have an online shopping cart for your buyers to use, the scammer will insist on buying their way.

I, too, am deaf. How you respond to them will go a long way in seeing if they will refer you to other friends in that area or not. I would advise that you put their number on speed dial, and if they call back again, you'll know who they are right away. I would also suggest getting yourself educated on how to treat deaf people, but here's one piece of advice from me, though: never make any comments or any body languages that they may perceive as threatening. Best thing to do is be relaxed, and you'll be okay.

I got my very first online customer letting me know via email that they are deaf, they want to purchase some product, and hopes that I treat them as well as my other customers. I am not too sure on what to do being this is my first online customer to have contacted me. I want to try because I am excited for my first sell but on the other hand I don't. I am not too sure on what to do nor want to discriminate a customer like that and be judgmental. After all Mary Kay is based on a Christian foundation so who am I to say this person is trying to scam?
