More or less the same as everyone else.  Said that I was in a drawing, I won a Movado watch, and could get 3 magazines for free.  When I advised the person that I didn't want the magazines;due to the fact there are small children in the home, they offered 5 magazines and one weekly magazine for the price of $4 a week.  $4 a week for 4 weeks is $16; but they wanted to give me the deal for the low price of $19.95....hmmmm a little fishy; I mean unless my math is off 4x4 is NOT 19.95.  I jumped online and googled the phone# and this pulled up as I was still on the phone.  I asked the "supervisor" what the name of the company was and what they did.  She confirmed that it was South Bay Publishing and that they sell magazines for drawings.  When I informed her of the negative comments online and asked her if the company had a legitimate website, she advised me that she would call back with their website and gave me a return phone# of 310-374-1741.  I called the phone# and A Kristin for the "Publishers Headquarters" picked up.   Just watch out for this company. Something doesn't seem quite right.

he said we had been nominated to win this cash sum.They give it away every year. Either by picking someone who really deserves it or I guess ppl nominate others?  Yeah right who wins money for no reason. They claimed we were nominated by someone but wouldnt tell me who I said my husband was not home to call back but they never did. Sounds like a scam or something to me.

They called me today wanting to know if I had a credit Card.

I too received these calls for several days. When I finally answered they gave me this whole spiel about what I had won and that all I had to do was agree to a 2 year magazine subscription, and that the cost of the watch was covered by whatever bank or credit card company my visa or mastercard is through. When they entered my info and it came back declined, they pressed for more cards. Fortunately, I have no money, so the calls were a waste of time for them. Oh, and when I tried calling back, the phone rang and rang. Finally, someone answered and said hello, no type of company greeting. Sometimes they even picked up the phone and hung up all at the same time. Carol Michael-s and Donte Davis were the reps that I spoke with...if that's their real names!

Rang and when I picked up there was no one there.  When I called back they did not answer.

Called and didn't leave message.... I called back and no answer.  Must be a scam of some sort...

Did not answer. They did not leave voice mail. Googled the number and found it is South Bay Preferred Publishing.

Same here with knowing my first and last name. I told her I was at work she hung up and did not say who she was. I called back and a man answered and said I was chosen to win some crap because my debit card has a visa logo on it. I told him to erase my name from the list a....he said ok and thank you then hung up.

Has called my phone twice... never leaves a message. When I call back they either hang up of let it just ring. I found comments on this site saying that it is a scm caller.

I have been getting calls from this number it started today but they call have called me twice. I wait untill the voicemail picks up since I don't know the number... but they never leave a message. And everytime I call back it just rings.

So I just googled the number and came to read these comments. Thank god I did now I will just be extra careful.

Received a call, she had some of my information, such as my address.  Said I won got a free watch and was in a drawing.  Got to the part about the magazines, I said I liked sports when she asked.  She went in to this whole thing about ESPN The Magazine for 3 bucks each week, and that'd I'd have to pay it monthly, and I said, "No thanks, unless the magazine is free I don't want it".  She said it doesn't work that way and then hung up on me.

maybe our new hobby should be going after scumbags like this.....maybe we should all call south bay (or whatever they are calling this phoney company today) 24/7

ironhead, same thing happened to me this morning. july 30,08 but from a different number. i am sure its a scam.

lady called and said I was in some drawing from my bank or credit card and wanted to verify my address when I said whats this about and I didnt enter into any drawing she just hung up on me, and I tried calling back over & over with no answer.....looked up the number came back to south bay

Caller called on 07/17 stating I won a prize and wanted my address. Of course HE did not get it. Be careful he could be a preditor!When I cursed him and hung up he called again but did not leave a message. This person knew my name and was trying to verify where I lived. So please be careful!

Received a call, they left no message.  I called the number back but got no answer. When looked up in a reverse phone search it says it is the South Bay Preferred Publishing at
