This number called my husband's phone asking for me today and thank goodness he said i was not there. I called the number back from my home phone, which has not answering service, and got no answer. I immediately googled and found this info. I figured with no answer and no voice mail it had to be a scam. I told my husband when these calls come in ask them for their number to call back and if it is a scam, they will hang up.

Received a call from this company stating I'm a valued customer for Visa. My name has been entered to win 1 of many prizes ($25, 000, etc). They just wanted to verify my address to send the information to if I indeed win. I asked for a website I can used to verify their validity. I was given www.unitedreaders.com which has NOTHING to do with visa giveaways, or valued customer but instead its for magazine subscriptions. Anyone else know about this number?

They told me I won. I told them to give it to the Red Cross. I am so glad I could help. I wonder if I can claim the gift to the IRS. LOL!!! As long as I do not have to claim it as income.

If you gave them your address you may now find unwanted charges on the credit card they say is on file

I just received this phone call today and boy am i glad i didnt give her my info. After reading these posts i realize what a scam it is. I never win anything so i knew something was up. When she told me that my bank or credit card hold gave her my info, i asked her her what bank gave her my info and she told me that they dont give her that information. so i knew it wasnt my bank that gave her my info and i dont have a credit card. When i told her that i didnt feel comfortable with this and asked if i could just be taken off of her calling lists she just said ok and hung up on me. It was crazy. If you get this call dont answer!

Got call from this ph#,female id as Rhonda and said she was from the Publisers Head Quarters and wanted to ask me a few questions, told her I was currently at work and coulkd not take calls. She sd that she had obtained my information from my bank to which I said that bank not ussually give out sensitive information to telemarketers,she hung up.

They called my cell, and asked for my husband. I said he's not here, and before I could even spit out, that I am his wife she hung up on me. She never identified herself or company, just hung up. I called the number back. She answered "Publishers Headquarters" - I said,"Somebody just called for my husband and hung up on me!" Then SHE HUNG UP ON ME AGAIN!!!!

I recieved a call from this number today and I did not answer it. The ID read from Lomita CA. I decided to follow up on it and when I called back a woman picked up and when I started to speak she hung up. I then went on Google and typed in the number and thank God I did. Im so glad you all posted things because I am the type of person that would fall for a lie that she would pull and my identity probably would have been stolen. If anyone revieves a call from this number do not answer and block it if possible. Thanks to everyone for posting.

I am behind on a bill so I did not answer.  I can almost guarantee that if you guys are too it may be something to do with verifying your information so they know they are calling the right person.  I only have one card that I am behind on and couldn't pay off so I know it is the same company calling me each time.  They call right after 8am M-S and then like two minutes before 9pm M-S; and every where in between.  I literally have had them call from 7 or 8 different area codes.  It really should be illegal, I have never made a late payment before and this is my first and they won't stop.

I just got a call from this number as well with the same song and dance as these others describe. Some bull about my bank or credit card entering me in a sweepstakes. Notification to the winner to be sent via certified mail, rattled off my street address and asked if it was correct.  I said "Yes but..." and tried to ask her a question but she said thanks and hung up.  This really has me concerned and nervous - what kind of scam could this be?

Rhonda called me -- she told me my bank submitted me to them since i was a 'good customer'  She had my address and so I verified it.  She said that i won a contest and as a promotion all I have to pay for is one magazine (she rattled off a bunch of names from a list) at $3.95 per week.  She said they were from the Publisers Head Quarters and it was the Dream Come True Sweepstakes or something.  She also asked me several questions (am i married? what line of work I am in? how old am i?) When i asked more about the company, she stated that they are based out of Ohio but she was calling out of L.A.  When i asked if i could call her back (since i am at work and busy right now) she hung up on me.
