If you get a call from this telemarketer, please file a complaint with the FCC and FTC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm. If they receive enough complaints, they'll investigate. In addition, they send information on how to file a lawsuit. Recently, they shut down five of these scams.

Total scam. I knew it but tried to get info. Caller said I won a Carnival cruise. Questioned how he got my name. Didn't get a straight answer. He said Carnival owned Holland America, Royal Caribbean, etc. This is totally false. I could only go on my free cruise if I paid the taxes. I requested he send me the paperwork. He said no it didn't work that way. I had to pay up front. I told him no thanks and hung up. DO NOT send money to these people!!!!

Got a call from this number yesterday afternoon. Caller ID said "IL, USA."
I'm starting to get a lot of these types of calls. I used to let them just roll over to VM because the spam numbers are pretty easy to spot. Lately, I've been answering and quickly hanging up. I'm hoping that the voice-response units will recognize my call as "answered" (instead of going to VM and thus prompting a repeat call) and thus leave me alone. Does anyone know if this strategy works?

Sorry for misspelled words. If you recieved a call like this you will probably receive many more from various scammers. If you won something, that means they should already have your information. So why would you have to provide it?
Please report to the DNC list and your states Attorney Generals Office. If you feel that you have been dipped or know someone who has, please contact your local police department immediately. If you used a card please cancel it immediately and issue a fraud report.
Ignore the calls, report, warn, never give out personal information over the phone and watch out for more calls. Warn the elderly as the gullible.

Did you know that telephone scams are on the rise?
You want to know why? Because they work. Same with home secuirty, same with card service calls. People, use common sense. Especially in 2013. A free cruise? Especially if you didn't enter anything? C'mon. Never ever ever give out personal information especially to random callers. If you won anything, by law, you would recieve something in the mail and the company will notify you through a legal department/ customer service and would use a call back number and provide adequate information. if the representative seems sketchy then use descretion. One of the oldest tricks in the scam book is saying this is a one time offer. They do that to get you to act on impulse and to not think/research.
All they want is your credit card for personal use. Telemarketing scams are on the rise and never eve ever give out personal information over the phone, especially to random out of area weird caller and caller is callers. If you can't call them back, there is your sign.
Report, warn others, and ignore. Don't lose your hard earned money to criminals who do not care about you or the law. All they want is to steal. Don't be next.

Just received this same call in MO. Did not hit 1. If it were lagit, I would be contacted by registered mail. Even if I entered it, there would be NO WAY Iwould leave my phone number. Especially since I'm on the US and MO no call lists.

Just received a call in Buffalo, NY from this company. Pitched me the free cruise from either Norwegian, Carnival or Royal Caribbean. Everything was included, I only had to pay gov't taxes - I could add more people on later. I said "This sounds too good to be true" and she said "It's the result of a bad economy, we're trying to fill the ships." I said "Without being able to see the fine print, I can't accept." She said "OK, well this is a one time offer and I am moving onto the next number, to someone who can actually AFFORD it!"
Rude. And I was being totally nice to her - I just wanted to see how much she would tell me about this "offer."

Called me but didn't answer
harrassed 2013-01-18 20:59:03 Telemarketer
I got one too. And since 312 is from Chicago, I answered. Lady said "travel services" in chicago. I registered and won a cruise (*BS*). Then she asked me my name. I asked her why she didnt have that, if I registered, and she hung up.
I bet that there is no company in chicago called "travel services."
Plus, many of these phone calls have spoofed called id, which is why there is no answer when the number is called.
Pissed 2013-01-18 20:44:52 Unknown
Another scam. This one tells you that you won a free cruise. Don't believe it.
Dave 2013-01-18 10:31:48 Telemarketer
Recording said I had entered a competition and had won a free cruise. This is total b/s as I have never done that. They stupidly think by saying that, they imply YOU have allowed them to contact your number which is on the Do Not Call list.
So, as instructed, I push 1 to talk to a representative. I want to know what name is on "my" competition entry. Surely I would have put my name on it? I wanted to have some fun with these fools. Instead, after pushing 1, I get dial tone. Maybe better luck next time and I can waste their time.

I received a call from this number as well. If Idon't know the number, I don't answer. There was no voice mail left. Www.dexonline.com has a reverse phone lookup, it's probably still free to use.
