I received a call from DeKalb County Solutions telling me that I owe money from 1998 on a credit card acct. - I ask them where did they get my information and they told me they got it from the international debt company (IDC).  There is NO such company, they also told me that my banking institution provided my personal information to the IDC (which was a lie), I contacted my bank and they never heard of the IDC.  I told the guy from DeKalb that I wasn't going to pay them a DAMN dine and to stop calling me, because as far as I am concerned this is a SCAM.  I will be contacting my attorney general office to file a compliant against this company.

I also got a call from these creeps- Mediation Recovery Center. I contacted an attorney but they never got back to me so I did some searching around and found the Presidents info. I emailed him and told him my peace of mind!!! He responded right away and then expressed his concerns (ya right!!!) and ended up closing my account (x wife's). My x states she never had the "account" so not sure who is lieing to me. They both suck. Here is the guys info

I received a call, a few moments, ago, regarding a credit card, this person said, I had, 10+ years ago. She was asking me to set up payment plans, etc.. Her name is Christine and she told me to call the number back and she was at extension #113.

These ppl told me someone used my card for a debt being collect from 26 years ago which would make me three years old im looking to sue them

I got a call on my cell today from these people. I was busy and I couldn't see the number calling so I answered.  The woman started telling me about how she got my info through Honda and some kind of account watch blah blah blah.  I stayed on the line and let her tell me how I owed from a Texaco acct. and the interest rate they were charging vs. the deal she has for me now.  I was pissed.  

I said, "This is a cell-phone you are calling.  You may NOT call it again.  IF this account is mine, it is way way way past the statute of limitations and you have no recourse. You can send me the information in the mail and include proof of the debt. Again, do NOT call this cell-phone again."

Now she was pissed?but all she said was, "Okay" and hung up.

The only credit accounts I have had in the past 13 years are just a few that were opened in the last 2 years. My credit report was clean when I last checked.  I check it every quarter. I am anal about keeping everything on time and as agreed. I will be interested to see if they send me the so-called "proof" that I owe this.

Called from 1-815-981-3298 a Chelly. Stated I owed 43.86 cents to Elder Beerman. I told her no way that was years ago and I payed it off and closed the account. I told her I would confirm this with Elder Beerman. Well guess what SUPRISE called and Elder Beerman had no debt applied to my former account. I had a good guy on the phone as he said the company was using a new bank to issue credit but he went into the system and pulled old records out for me. He told me the closing date of my account and that I had a zero balance as of the last payment which ws the same day I closed the account in 2002. This is indeed a scam dont pay these fools.

This company is a scam! They harass people at home and work!

They can't pin this on you without consequences.  You can dispute this debt with the credit bureaus - this is not your debt - it's your ex-husband's.  You should see a consumer attorney - most will give you a free (or reduced) initial consultation to figure out what to do next.  You could sue them for putting this account on your credit, and you can also sue them for violations of the FDCPA as well as the TCPA since the debt is not yours.

Please do also report them to the FTC, FCC and your state's Attorney General.  I would not let this go - make them pay for THEIR criminal behavior!

i keep getting calls about an account my soon to be ex husband, who was in prison had. my name is nowhere on the account and now, because we are still legally married, they have pinned this account in my name. when i try and explain to them that it is not my account, because i verified the social with them they called me a liar and told me to quit blaming my debt on my ex husband. now they have placed this account on my credit and it isnt even mine. this account was from before we were even married. almost 10 years ago.

The first step is to send them a certified cease & desist letter . Follow up with a complaint to the FTC at www.ftc.gov

Well were I come from any one calling saying you owe money, tells you what is going on, not I don't know where the collection account is from, I have prove of everything I have paid, I do not have any credit cards I did when I was 18 one was for 50 and one for 25 paid them both and never used the cards again, bought a car actually 2 of them paid in full no problems, I called this company back they refuse to tell me what the debt is for I am calling the attoney general in my state as well as where they say they are let the law deal with them, I under jobs are hard to get right now, but you must be a special kind of b*****d to work for a scam company

Just got a letter from this office about a domain account I called the office to find out what was a domain account they refused to tell me what it was, saying that I owed money and needed to pay right now, I will not pay for something that someone will not tell me what it is for, if I owe it yes I will pay but I have never had anything do with anyone named domain and the only 2 credit cards I have ever had were paid back in the 80's and I do have prove of it, they have been calling my phone up to 10 times a day when I answer on the first ring because I want to find out what this is about, but trying to talk to any of these people is a nightmare, the amount that they say I owe I have never bought anything that much I was a kid (18) both card had a credit of 200.00 I bought 50.00 on one and 25 on the other paid them both and never purchased anything else, and no other credit cards ever so I don't know what is going on, who ever heard of telling someone they owe money and then they refuse to tell you why isn't that agaist the law, yep I am going to be calling the attoney general in both my state and they state they say they are from

Yes, I too have been contacted on many occasions by these people in the last 8 years.
It seems they run random # & torment Whom ever  answers. I have gotten calls as early a 7:50 AM! And as late as 10:L00PM!!They are always looking for someone I do not know, or care to know:  like Jack Hoff or Pat Korder., I have been threatened by them, I have been called a liar. Could it be my former brother in law is in trouble his last name is Cordero but I am sure his credit rating are as high as mine since none of us use credit so there for no creditors should be calling my Non-published number.

Thanks for whoever started this thread. I received today -- for the second time in about 3 months -- a letter stating  I owe them about 1800 dollars for a Circuit City/Ben account. I never had an account with either. They offer to settle it for $450 forgoing interest payment and parts of the debt. There in NO way I am going to pay them when I never owed the debt in the first place! Next thing I need to do is check my credit History which I have not done in a couple of years. Hope these Jokers did not mess it up. This is a huge scum!

They left a message on my cell and then called my work.  When I asked what type of business they were, the girl yelled to someone in the backgound "I got one" then put me on hold so I hung up.  I called the number left on my cell and it just ran.  Then right away someone called me at work.  I asked him what type of business they were and he ignored my question but asked me to verify my mortgage company.  I told him that was none of his business and he said if I wouldn't help him he wasn't going to help me and hng up on me.  I don't understand what help he thinks I need as I have never missed or been late with a mortgage payment.

Not true...try using google. We can call until told not to...that is how the law reads.

I just got call too from DeKalb County Solutions.  Very Rude!  Called at work and then at home twice when my son hung up.  My home phone is unlisted!  I hope I don't have all of the hassles I'm reading about here coming to haunt me!

This company is nothing but a
big scam. They said I owed Bank of America money from 15 years ago. Stemming from the bank account that I close 14 years ago. I went to Bank of America and they researched the debt. Bank of America call bed this scam company. They told them I owe no money. Solutions quickly change their tune when speaking to the bank of America representative. I will have no problems from this company again. Since I'm a lawyer and an accountant I provided information to the fraud division of the FBI and the Department of Labor in Illinois. This company is going to be in for a big shock very soon. I hope they all go to prison

they called me today from 815-758-8216 number saying i owed a bill for Water Rest Products, in 1990, i explained someone musta stole my identity, she rattled off old address, nope not me, then said you are refusing to pay $1306 for this, I said hell yes, after further research I see I was only 16 yrs old at this time, there is no way i had a bill then..Wow, Total scam artists

Same company different number: 'Jack Peyton' calling from MRC using the number 707-317-1481

This is a business and they were calling for an employee but wouldn't give me any information-figured it was a scam.

DeKalb County Solutions, Inc. called me on a number unavailable to anyone especially personal calls. How they acquired my number it beyond me. Upon speaking to the idividual he was trying to convince me to make an immediate payment of $57.32 with a settlement of 57.11, a small payment.

He read my social security number, have my address, PO Box and cell number.
The man claimed I owed CPS Marketing a fee. I called every CPS Marketing and name variations, no company has every heard of me nor had I any dealings with any Marketing company.

I told the man to provide me with details of debt, he insisted that I make the small payment. His response to my request was to read off my social security number and say, it will be going on my credit report.

I received a letter that say's,
"This letter is to inform you that your CPS Marketing account which was formerly held by PMG has been purchased by DeKalb County Solutions, Inc."  etc........ interest varies from day-to-day, the amount due on the day you pay may be greater.....  etc.... I have never encountered any collections agency to ready off your entire social security number.

The law is simple. Just tell them not to call you at work. It is legal to call but illegal to call if told you cant get calls at work

These people are calling my work place about a debt that I don't owe, bordering harassment and I understand it is illegal to call one's work place. I don't know how they obtained the number. They say it is Mediation Recovery Center.

Called twice said my husband owed $100 on an old Sams Club account.  First time said it was in 2004 second said it was in 2008.  We don't have credit cards or shop at Sams.  These people are nothing but a scam give them no information.  The first time a guy chewed me out and insisted my husband was keeping secrets from me and got an account behind my back and kept it and went in the negative with it. So I chewed him out right back and hung up.  The second lady wouldn't even tell me who she worked for till I insisted, then said he had a settlement waiting, I told her to remove our number from this scam hotline.
