The only way to get this cra- to stop is to direct it where it will hurt. Once I was through to a live person, she asked for a phone number in case we were disconnected. Thus she probably had no idea what number she was connected to. So - time to act very interested, give a phone number for:
a. Local Congressman's office
b. Local District Attorney's office
c. State District Attorney
d. Local police non-emergency number
You've got the idea. Get a number that goes to a real person with authority. Then, midsentence - cut yourself off. Let them call back to the number they have noted. Objective - make this unprofitable for the scammers, get authorities engaged as they won't put up with this for long.

I have received three calls in three days from 312-340-5618 (caller ID simply CHICGONZ01, IL), coming about 1-1/2 hours each day so the robocaller must be eliminating some and moving us up on its list. First day it was "Chrystal" who asked if I had my Duke Energy bill available, then hung up when I asked what company this was. Yesterday it was "Audria", agent number 597. She said the company name was "Live Voice" and that she was calling from Cincinnati, but would not give further company information and hung up. Today, "Sophia" called, said same company name "Live Voice" but refused to give a phone number for the company or say where it was located - "for security reasons." I imagine there may be someone who might be mad enough to do bodily harm. I just want to know who to sue. Sophia was a little more talkative, saying the National Do Not Call list did not apply to this company as it was not selling anything and not taking credit card numbers, just gathering information to determine eligibility for the discount for Duke customers.
Violations - Refusal to give legitimate company name, refusal to give company phone number, refusal to give company address. I don't care where the call center is located, I care who's behind this.

They are not working with Duke Energy to lower your bill they are trying to get you to switch companies. They send people around to homes with that nonsense as well.

Called and said I was eligible for a discount on my Duke energy bill and to push 5 to talk to a rep. I did and told Monic I was on the national do not call list and asked why they think they can continue to call me. She hung up on me. I then dialed the # back and a recording came on saying to push 1 if I want to be on there do not call list. As if the national list means nothing I guess. I did this and then filed a complaint with the national list.
