Same here, wow the tactics people are trying to employ to PLOY US!  Here's to us for knowing how to be resourceful about looking into things.... unbelievable.

Just reported the bad job posting to geebo... not sure it'll help if they're behind it.

Thanks all...Believe my text was in response to a Geebo job I applied to earlier today. And I so agree that I am so tired of the scams out there targeting people looking for employment. Gonna stay away from Geebo!!!

Thanks Joe, I put in an application and was directed to this Geebo site too. The job seemed legit but I too received this text and wanted to look into it before I called. This sucks when you're trying to look for employment and have these scammers getting your information.

Thanks for the posts.  I too got a text message and decided to check it out before I called.  I think that it was Geebo running this deal.

From Geebo, in regards to a job I applied to and asked me about all the other stuff listed above, plus the regular gip about open positions and going back to school blah, blah, blah...

ditto! i got a text from them and sent one back asking them to identify themselves and send me an e-mail.  last i heard.  thanks, y'all!

My wife currently seeking employment and recieved the same text today. Sales ploy most likely.

I received a text message from 312-647-2173 which I did not return as I read other comments on this site.  I didn't think an honest employer would contact me with a text to call them back about a job.  It was for a  data entry/clerical job I applied for on Beyond.com.

I got the same text but when I called it was Career Advisors.  They had a record of the text and started an interview about a purchasing job I applied to.

This was a phishing expedition and I wish I knew which purchasing job ad was associated with this company to report them.  The questions started out innocent enough, Are you over 18?  Verified email, phone, physical address off my resume/application.  Asked if I was over 18.  Do I have a HS Diploma, DO I have a college degree?  Are you currently employed?  When I said I was employed they asked why I was seeking a change in employment?  The conversation was a little too long compared to most interviewers about wanting to seek permanent full time work rather than my current temporary part time work.  

It got weird - They wanted to know if I had a bank account.  When I said I could take direct deposit, that wasn't good enough, they wanted to know where I banked.  I wouldn't tell them and they said I shouldn't be so difficult.  I asked what job they were putting me in for and they wouldn't tell me.  I asked for a direct deposit form and I would provide the info and they wouldn't provide it.  I started questioning them more closely and said I was interested in the purchasing job, but I did not understand why the line of questioning was warranted.

Next thing I know I am transferred to a "supervisor" who is trying to sell me to apply to on-line schools for an MBA program.  I told them I wasn't interested because once I get back to work and pay down student loans, I was already accepted into a MBA program.  Then they started asking how old i was, when did I graduate High School.  It was really strange all the way around.

I may report the phone number yet to the FCC just to make a record.

I received a text message from 1-312-647-2173 telling me that they wanted to speak to me about a job I had posted on their job board.
gave me 1-877-373-4904 to talk to them. When I called that number it is for Revolution Golf Membership. They said that they do not have text ability and do not know how they got that number.
