You've evidently never been skip traced before. Misfired calls are a common problem from debt collectors. Often the sweeping of non-debtors is deliberate.

No one else reading this page can ''make them stop calling'' on your behalf. That is *YOUR JOB*. You have state and federal laws to help you get that done. I've linked to federal material later in this thread.

You need to protect your own self, using the federal laws which have existed for 35 years.

The name is Convergent Outsourcing, not "conversion". It was renamed from ER Solutions / ERS in December 2011.

This is a scam company.  They need to be removed, fined and anything our 'good' government can do to protect us citizens.

I had a missed call from this number. Called them back and said it was a collection agency and said they're looking for this person that i don't know about. What are they trying to fish out of the people they are calling? Very suspicious. What kind of world are we living in now. I found this site and surprised to find a lot of people have posted about this suspicious collection agencies.

Yes you are correct...they are bottom feeders.  Collectors calling me on a Paypal charge from 2005 that I don't owe.  The first thing they asked for was my SS#...Don't give them any info.

They called here about six time a day for the last week. I answered one today, they asked for someone that doesn't exist-my married name and I'm not married. I told them there's no one living here by that name and hung up. If it happens again, I'll know to tell them that they're harassing me, just like Portfolio Recovery does and tell them to send me the bill in the mail.

I receive a an empty fax from these people every day.  Sometimes 2 or 3, maybe even more.  Since they are not calling my primary number I can assume this is a hoax.  If it continues I will call the authorities.

I also received mang calls from this number and a letter yesterday saying I owe $77 to ebay from 2006. If that was the case, I would have gotten a bill for it 7 years ago and paid it. Another company sent my husband a letter saying he had an outstanding debt with ebay. He never had an account.

I got a call today and they asked me to verify my birthday and I told them if they tell me the birthday on file I will tell them if it is correct, she said that she can not do that and that she's just going to have mark my "file" with refusal to identify. I told her go ahead and do that I'm sure the "file" is pages long, and that it will longer if I continue to get harrassing phone calls from them because they will speak with my attorney instead of me! She got rude with me (real rude) and then hung up on me. I love it when I piss them off, it's like "right back at ya b!t@h"!! :)

Perhaps you should do a little reading around the site before you start name calling.  Just because someone tells you a truth that you do not like, does not mean they are a shill.  Resident is no more a shill than any of the other people who put in the effort to make this site a useful resource.

A collections shill is not going to calmly discuss what has been an industry standard practice ever since the Foti-NCO case, much less discuss the laws which help you defeat collectors who mean to deny your rights. See FDCPA § 804 for the constraints placed on collection agents speaking to those who are not the alleged debtor. Since they cannot know in advance who will answer a phone or hear a message, issues of disclosure are tender ground for consumer lawsuits many would rather avoid.

This is a scam. I called them right back to investigate, and asked to speak the person that called, and they wanted my information, address, phone (which they already had), and I knew then that it was a scam.  Checked on another site like this one, and that confirmed it.  However, they are relentless... I am getting the same calls again after a week of silence.

scam told them they had the  wrong person thay keep calling my cell ,i added them to my contacts and set the ring so it wont ring when thay cal.......l ha ha ha

They called my husbands cell phone today. We have been monitoring our credit closely and are currently disputing items on his report,therefore i know we dont owe any debt to these people ! Weve been through our debt info with a fine tooth comb . Glad i came here and seen these posts . Now im convienced its a scam !

Got an automated call at my place of employment looking for someone who I couldn't find in the system

This a collection call from a company who purchased ebay debt.

You have to say these words specifically "DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER EVER AGAIN" no other explanation necessary - they will probably then ask you for another number they can reach you at and just tell them - "its not my debt DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER EVER AGAIN" then hang up.  At that point, they cannot call you again and will pass the debt on to someone else.  Trust me - it works and all the bill collectors know it and all the "credit rehabilitation" places know it too - that's how they can advertise "Stop those harassing phone calls today" because that's what they say to your creditors.
