This man called my number today as well. He said he was with the sheriff's department and was calling me regarding non payment on my mortgage, and that I needed to call him back regarding my case number, which he didn't give. I called my mortgage company to make sure nothing was wrong (nothing was), and called him back. He said that I was behind and he could help me before I was evicted. I calmly informed him that nothing was wrong with my mortgage and, also quite calmly, asked him how he got my number. He then immediately said, " you can quit being f****ng rude and go f*** yourself." I then hung up and called my local sheriff's department and reported him.

He told me the same thing, i called the police and the FTC on him

I have had several phone calls and voice and texts messages from this guy who claims to be Kevin Gold and from the National Home Mortgage Help Center, he wanted me to send him money, and all my financial info including my social, i called my local police department and filed a complaint and the FTC also, he was calling me a scumbag and other names, i suggest anyone else do the same they are getting an attorney and everything !

Call the FTC and report him, i did!

The same thing happened to me but he said his name is Doug Gold . I was actually scared bcus he kept calling  me. I called the police and filed a report . See what happens I even got text messages on my phone where he called me a scum bag and said the sheriff is coming

So...i received a call yesterday from a so called "Kevin" calling from the number listed 312-834-1775.  He tried to convince me that he made over $300,000 per month and that law firms do nothing but steal clients money.  He wanted me to illegally steal leads from my firm and send them to him so he could do loan modifications for them.  He was extremely arrogant and would not let me get a word in edge-wise.  After an hour of hearing him ramble about how irresponsible and pitiful homeowners who didn't pay their mortgage are, i advised him that i was not interested in what he was trying to offer me ( a cut from the sales i would supposedly send to him ) .  I hope this guy gets caught, although entertaining to listen to he is very stupid to think i would even be interested  ( on a recorded line) to even pursue illegally giving him my law firms client info.

Received a call from a male who was very disrespectful. He said I was behind on my mortgage and that he could help me refinance. I told him I was not behind and that I knew without an income I wouldn't qualify for a refi. He told me that I was a stupid homeowner and that I needed to listen to him. He told me to go "F" myself and that the only way I would ever get a job was to lose weight and get a job at a stripper club. I can't believe someone trying to improve his business would think he can talk to people like this and get their business. Unbelievable!

this guy name Dennis mayers that my girl friend fund on line to help her safe her home. for past few month he keep asking for more but there nothing to show where the money is going.i think hes a fake

I just got off the phone for the second time today with a guy that called himself David that used the phone #312-834-1775 and said he represented National Mortgage Help Company. The message that he intially left on my voice mail said that he was from XXXXX Legal Department which is the loan company that our home mortgage is thru.
He was supposedly going to redo my mortgage and get me down to 2.50% and save me lots of money. He was a little rude at first and very unprofessional. I asked him lots of control questions, most of which he failed at and he even used a little bit of profanity. Eventually I told him that I'd call him back. He called me back instead in a couple of hours and when I told him I wasn't interested in his services then he got very rude and started cursing and making threats to me. He also said that he was going to add my name to a list of pedophiles on google, and put my name all over the internet associating me as a sexual pervert and a pedophile. That's when I told him that I"ve been insulted enough and hung up on him. He called me back about 10 minutes later and said that he's entering my name in search engines as a pedophile this very instant. He also said that he's calling my boss at the corporate headquarters and is going to inform him that I'm a perv and I"ve been using the office computer to download kiddie porn. I told him to keep on talking to me because I'm recording every bit of our conversation. Then he proceeded to use more profanity and calling me names until I hung up on him again.
Buyer beware, this guy is definently not legit and has to be a total ripoff. There are two reasons why I wasn't interested in his services. #1 his manners tipped me off  #2 I did a search on the internet, one result being from this very site #3 Tell someone like this that you're not interested in their services and see how they respond to you.

This Guy treated us that if we did not give him free lead that he would put us on rip off report and he did. We are a reputable company and this guy is trying to black mail us for free leads. A man called in to my office today at the Law Offices of Leslie Richards and threatened to have someone come to my house and shoot me in the face.

We are remaining anonymous  because this Dennis Mayer has not only called our offices threatening to kill everyone and shoot everyone in the face but he has called our clients and insulted them with racial slurs.  We have reported this number to the Police I suggest you do the same

You may also want to call 911 about this call.  If your description of the call you received is correct, the person calling made what appears to be a threat to your life.  I would give NO weight to the area code as giving the location of the person calling -- if the number is a cell phone, for example, you can ask for an area code from anywhere in the United States to be assigned to you.  If the number is a VOIP service, anyone, anywhere, can request a U.S. number (or a Canadian number, too, for that matter) with any area code at any time -- all you need is a credit card to pay for a DID number, and they are dirt cheap nowadays.

Thus, the caller could well be hiding in the bushes outside of your house and still appear to your caller ID as though he were hiding a couple of thousand miles away.  You have no reliable way of knowing where he is or how determined he is to make his threat a reality, and you don't know how long he intends to take to actually do it, if ever.  It could be within the next hour, or never.  You just don't know.

Also, instead of contacting the FCC, make sure you report this call to the FBI.  The FCC will just take this as a consumer complaint and sit on it until it comes up in the normal course of their business.  But the FBI actually solicits reports of a suspected crime at https://tips.fbi.gov/ and has the resources to take immediate action on them if warranted.  The FBI has a major focus on terrorism these days, but I'm sure that they will appreciate this type of tip as it concerns suspected criminal activity, another priority of theirs.

And I would consider there to be a reason to suspect this is criminal activity:

"(a) Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication containing any demand or request for a ransom or reward for the release of any kidnapped person, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both."

"(c) Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both."

"(d) Whoever, with intent to extort from any person, firm, association, or corporation, any money or other thing of value, transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication containing any threat to injure the property or reputation of the addressee or of another or the reputation of a deceased person or any threat to accuse the addressee or any other person of a crime, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

I would guess that, if the description of your call is correct, this would fall under paragraph (c) or possibly paragraph (b), which might have made the act of placing the call to you a felony for which the perpetrator may be looking at perhaps as much as five or even twenty years of time in a federal prison.

But don't take my word for it -- I don't know all the facts or the jurisdictions that may be involved.  Talk to your attorney about this, or file at the FBI tip line or call 911 if you feel threatened.

Interesting, just after my post I received a threatening phone advising me that I will be "Murdered" and incorrectly called racial epithets more overly the "N" word and again calling me a scumbag. The post that you have been so nice to print is also incorrect.

So, since we have now crossed the line, these calls will be turned over the proper authorities starting with my attorney, the FCC, the AG offices in AZ and IL.

I received a call over the weekend and the message said "Call back, this is Bank of America Legal dept". I called this morning and got a voicemail but it was not BOA so I didn't leave a message.

Within 20 minutes a guy calls back and he clearing his throat and hacking. He says that he can lower my mortgage payment to $1000.00 if I get started this week. I tried to explain that I was not working and had no income and that I know that the loan can't be modified without an income.

"Bill" starts getting aggressive and I tell him I'm in the mortgage business and understand how it works so he starts telling me that I'm going to wake up and find the sheriff at my door and they are going to take my house. He got pissed when I told him that I didn't live there and that if the bank wants it they can have it. I tried to explain that I already have another house and he starts yelling so I terminated the phone call.

2 minutes later he called back and I sent it to voicemail. He calls back again and he leaves a message.
He calls me a scumbag, tells me he knows that I have no money, I'm a do***e bag loser and that he is going to call the mortgage company and tell them what I'm up too because he has all my information.

Hey "Bill", I have your phone number and friends who track people down for a living.

Good Luck, your'e going to need it. Oh, and it wont be the sheriff at your door. OXOXOX

This guy was very rude called me at 9:41 p.m. which is against the law and told me I needed to pay my bills and on and on and I told him never to call back again.  Well, I hung up and he called back at 9:55 p.m. and started ranting and raving and told me never to hang up on him again and on and on and I'm going to contact an attorney tomorrow and the BBB also Attorney Generals office.  He told me his name is Dennis Myers who knows, he is a nut case so beware!!!!

I was so happy with this company.. they saved my home and made everything perfect... what can i say.. miracles do happen and today it did.. Thanks to NMHC.. they did such a wonderful job on my modification

Received a call from this number. This person indicated that they had experience in helping people with their mortgage. He was insulting and insinuating that he could help me in my situation without knowing what that situation was. I asked what situation is that? He was asking personal questions at which point I asked who he was affiliated with; he indicated that he manages his own company and that he helps people stay in their home. He kept repeating stories of his friends that lost their home because they didn't contact him. Told me that the sheriff came and broke down his friends door and cuffed him and evicted him. He told me that people are stupid if they think that they can stay in their homes. He was ranting over and over about the same things. Then he started threatening me when I told him that he needs to come up with a better sales pitch. When I had asked his name he said it was Dennis Mayer. I hung up on him and he called back two more times. He told me he was going to call the Sheriff and get me evicted because he knows that I am trying to live in a home for  free. None of this is true but he seems to think he knows everyone's situation.  This was pure harassment. He said he is currently in Las Vegas but lives in Chicago.

My wife got the same call. He was very rude. Said he was coming to take my home away. We do not owe any back payments plus he said he was with a company that doesn't even own our morgage. Beware of phone calls like this especially at night.

Had a guy call me saying he was going to repo my home. Well your home can't be taken if your not behind on a payment. Talked to me and my husband really bad. Something needs to be done about these callers due to some poor people will fall for this and pay them money that will just be gone. These people are awful to do such things. If anyone knows anything that I can do about this please let me know. Hope no one falls for this scam.
