phone call from 678-960-2742 said the same thing. as i listened to the music to talk to someone i read this post and immediately hung up. THANK YOU.

My Mom received the exact same call, but as she doesn't have call display on her landline, we don't know what number they used.

The message said because of her recent shopping at Bay or Zellers (which she had just come home from shopping at) she had won a trip for the amount of $1600.00, free, for four people to go to Cancun, Mexico. She pressed "1" as dictated to "hear more details." The message then said, "Congratulations!" and then hung up.

Will this cause any problems with out landline? We have already alerted our phone provider to the incident, but is there anything else we should do?

I got the same call, pressed 1 to get more info and was told they couldn't make that connection now and the line went dead.  Since a member of my family recently made a large purchase at Canadian Tire I wondered if my name had been entered and got a bit excited.  What's the deal here?

I just got a hang up call from 312-878-9608. Anyone desperate enough to use auto dialers to solicit "business" must stealing credit card numbers over the phone. Either that or they're hoping to scope out vulnerable seniors with dementia to really put pressure on them; that, or add them to the other telemarketing lists like the "grandson scam" ("hi grandma, it's your favorite nephew. don't tell mom I'm in jail, I need you to withdraw and send me $3,000 to help me post bail - remember please don't tell anyone. I love you grandma"). I'm going to get one of those mega-decibel marine air horns and keep it by the phone. When I "press one"  to talk to a scammer (I mean agent)...Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa right into the receiver. Don't ever call me again you disgusting, low-life, predatory pukes.

They just called my house saying we won some ridiculous contest so I pressed 1 like they said and told them to never call again. Stupid pricks..

It was a recorded message saying that either me or someone in my household entered a contest at Canadian Tire, Zeller's, or The Bay, for a trip.  The message said our number had been selected for the amount of $1600.00, free, for four people to go to Cancun, Mexico ... Press 3 to decline the offer.  

NOBODY ENTERED ANY SUCH CONTEST.  WE PAY CASH ONLY SO NO WAY THOSE STORES KNOW WE EXIST.

Recording that said I had shopped in either Canadian Tire, Zellers or TheBay recently and that I was the winner of $1600 travel dollars for a trip to Cancun.  I hit "1" to accept and the call was dropped.

This number is a call centre trying to get you to book a travel vacation in Mexico.

They just called me.  I picked up the phone and like above they took a few seconds to answer.  An automated message told me that a friend or family member had visted the Bay, Sears or Walmart location and entered me into a draw for up to $2500 towards a vacation.  They told me to press one, I did and when the girl from the automated voice came on, I told them to remove this number from their calling list.   Ugh!

VACTN IDEA WCA is certainly a questionable caller to me.

Incoming call from this number.  Out of area and unrecognized number so didn't answer.  As is the case with most telmarketers, they left a silent message.  Ba$tards!
