Received a VM from this number asking for my husband.  Stated they were Verizon Wireless calling about changes to our account and gave my son's phone number as the reference number.  I contacted the toll free number and got an automated system.  When I entered the reference number it just stated "sorry you're having trouble with this call, please try again later."

After spending several moments on hold with Verizon they indicated they had no idea who would have called me.  Verizon said I now have to keep checking my bill to make sure nothing is added to my account.  Joy.  On the bright side, they blocked all marketing calls from my account.

You are so insistent on supporting and sticking up for the bad guys, I am wondering if you are one of them. Your English and grammar skills leave about as much to be desired as the callers we are speaking of, and you seem very annoyed over something that shouldn't affect you in any way. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they act and how they respond to different situations and you sir look suspicious.

Not everyone who gets a phone call from these scammers owes money for a loan. I was harrassed non stop for months by one of these so called debt collectors for a pay day loan. I have never in my life had a payday loan. They went so far as to threaten to have the police come to my house, arrest me and take my child away from me if I didn't pay them what they wanted. Then when I called their bluff, the call turned sexual in nature. Please don't assume that people are guilty of failing to pay for these loans. These scam artists are looking for people to believe them and send them money to line their own pockets, Period. Also if you want them to leave you alone, stop answering or returning their phone calls. Once you do, your number is listed as active and they will continue to bother you. Call your phone company, most of them have an option available that will allow you to block numbers to your phone. You may have to block a few, because they change their numbers from time to time, but if you are diligent in doing so, eventually they will leave you alone.

I have several calls from them a day, I tried to tell them I don't remember any payday loan.
The customer service is somewhat nice, but the supervisor was very rude said I needed to
make a money gram immediatley, and when I said I could not until maybe next month, he said
do it today or else.
I explained my father just passed away and he said more or less, I don't care just make the moneygram today..

Supposedly from Powell Law Offices.  Debt collectors.  They are trying to reach someone who hasn't had this phone number for years.  Even though we told them this several times, they keep calling.

i have received a call from these people, but the number was different. The rep was actually very polite, however I told him I did not feel comfortable with giving my info over the phone and I would like to receive a bill in the mail giving me more information about them. He told me that the where not able to do that. I don't know how I can trust someone I just met over the phone and give out my personal debit info or send a money gram. Those where the only two ways that they would take a payment. I understand I owe money to a place, but I have had horrible problems in the past and there are too many thieves out there to trust anyone on the internet or phone....

I got an email from from the Powell Law Office saying that I owe them money. I called the # 18772994801 to see what I owe money for and to whom I owe money to. all I got was that they are not accepting calls or messages.

As os august, 26, 2011 the colorado state attorneys office web site lists lighthouse recovery;s lisece as expired due to non renewal or failure to prvovide a securities bond or what ever. License was supposed to be renewed by end of july 2011.Lighthouse and powell law office are all the same. So they are operating illegaly at the moment. Also trying to collect on illegal internet loans.

i dont have a problem paying a debt.. but this law firm uses tactics that are ruthless.. i got sick and was unable to continue paying payday loan.. wasnt able to call cause i was in hospital.. now getting disability.. got call from powell law firm.. and i owed 600 have paid 275 so far..told them i dont have any money but once a month and will pay balance my next check..they keep harrassing me and very mean to my..im going through treatments. i would pay it all now if i could.. so not all of us are people who just wont pay... my mistake was to every take out pay day loan...

I get calls from this firm, but the numbers are spoofed numbers as if I'm getting CA calls, in which I live.

just pay your bills or work out a monthly payment... 99% of the time when you agree to a loan and don't pay it back interest rates apply.  Always read the term and conditions of the contract that states in the event of a default then attorney fees apply. Then dont forget if they file a case then court fees and process serving fees apply as well. Most people dont show to court and receive a default judgement

I gave the Powell Law office a return call twice to see why they were trying to contact me at work, but they hung up on me both times.

Send the collections agent a letter in writing telling them not to call.  YOU MUST DISPUTE THE DEBT IN WRITING.  Keep a running list of when you receive the calls and the name of the person -- if they will give it to you.  Ask and write them telling them to send any information regarding the debt in writing.  Then wait.

If you receive another call, sue them in your state court, but keep good records -- you can even represent yourself.

If consumers unite and begin to sue the creditors en masse for illegal tactics, we'll win this fight.

keep calling and harrassing me for money phone numbers are coming from 5 different area codes, 303-800-1660, 951-263-7563, 951-402-2720, 866-913-7190 and 720-259-6417. They are calling me at work and cell.

These "people", and I use the term loosely,have no clue as to the provisions of the Fair Debt Collections Act.   Yes, illegal means .. and should be reportedly in all instances accordingly!

These people are ruthless, say I owe money That Don't they Powell Law Office Pc is in Centennial, Co. They are connected with Light house recovery. They use illeagle means to try to get you to pay high amounts of money. They need to be stopped.
