I've been getting the same crazy texts but from a 718 number. I think it might be an I Phone app for anonymous messaging like pinger text free or v.o.i.p. free calling and since it's only a free messaging system, your unable to send or receive calls. That's why the message comes up when you call. The person is notified someone tried to call via text message from the app itself, just like pinger text free. Either way it's someone you know messing with you. I've already figured it's an app for I Phone and most likely on a jail broken one because if everyone with an I Phone had the app we'd all be getting crazy messages lol. This number texted my phone. I live in WV which is a 304 area code so confused, I replied to ask who it was. Then they started saying some obscene sexual gestures. I stopped texting. My boyfriend curious to know who it was then started texting the man back, but then he wouldn't reply anymore. The next few days we even tried calling the number. It will ring but then a woman's voice recording comes on saying "Thanks for calling, the party you dialed is unavailable, they will be notified that you called." If anyone else gets a call or text or even knows this number please leave me a comment to tell me what you all know.
