recieved 8 texts today from 917 939-3826 (which turns out to be a Nextel cell phone in New York). Text identifies as Republic B & T (we dont/never have banked with Republic) and asks for return call to 314 442-0493 (when called recording says # not in service) ..... What is WITH these guys? 8 texts? what is the point?

It is a scam. Do not return the call. Spoke with Republic Bank & Trust directly and if you did call that number and give any information, you will need to speak with the security department at Republic.

I've received two text messages from 917.731.1551 saying its Republic B&T and asking me to call 314.442.0493. I haven't called though, because I don't bank with them. I'm guessing it's spam.
