BBB is NOT a non-profit business! They have employees to pay. BBB's are privately owned franchises who charge for their services and do not meet federal gov requirements to be considered non-profit.  BBBs are for-profit!!

Bad rating for not joining the bbb? Yeah and bush bombed the trade center

Call saying its someone from the Better Business Bureau.  Between all the sales calls from the BBB and fake BBB spam emails the BBB itself is getting a reputation of being a hard sell organization.

I received a call from that number after posting an ad on Craigslist offering services. They must have gone through CL ads to look for businesses to solicit to b/c the number they called is otherwise unpublished. She left a message saying "Hi, this is Brenda with better business bureau and I am calling to speak with the owner, president, or C.E.O. of the company. Please return my call at 314-584-6757. Thank you." The call came from number 314-645-0606. I won't call back, but they must not be very good at sales as she did not sound very friendly in the message and didn't even bother to specify what company she was trying to reach.

This is a sales call asking your business to join the better business bureau.  Just answer the call, and ask them not to call back if you do not wish to join the BBB.  It is a legit call.

Tell you you need the Better Business Bureau and accredication to operate as a business or they will not support you and give your business a bad rating.
