I just called them back. The first time they hung up. The second time the guy couldn't repeat the name of the company 2 times in a row. He then says "We may have called you by mistake or you are part of our wellness program". Sounds like a scam to me.

It's not a scam. It is Cigna. If they are calling you and you aren't signed up with them it's simply a mistake not a scam. I keep forgetting this odd number is theirs so I don't always answer. I am signed up on their diabetes wellness program and have to agree to speak with their nurse every 90 days so I can get my supplies and office visits at no copay. So definitely not a scam.

The information she gave you about un-enrolling is correct.  If you do not sucessfully complete 3 telephone calls with one of their nurses they will deactivate you from the program.  I found out the hard way.  I went to the pharmacy to pick up test strips and the cost went from no charge to $55.  I called them back yesterday and am in the process of getting reactivated which is going to take from four to six weeks!

IF this really is a call from CIGNA, they have wrong info.  I am not with CIGNA.  I have NEVER had CIGNA.  This has scam written all over it...  I've never answered this call, but they continue to call 3 or 4 times a week for the past several weeks...

Got a call today at 9:15 am.  I happened to be home sick today and would have rather slept in a bit more.  They hung up as soon as my machine picked up.  I am sure this really is Cigna/Cigna Wellaware but I find the calls intrusive.  How in the world do they expect to reach me during normal business hours?  Surely they can see in their records where I work and figure out that during the day I'M AT WORK and not sitting at home eagerly awaiting their annoying calls!

Who says you have to stop what you are doing and answer??  Granted, the calls are annoying, but if you are busy, why not just let your machine/voicemail pick up?

In a country with national health care where care cannot be denied, these disease management services complement consultations you have with your doctor and are fine. In countries without national health care like the USA, care can be denied by the insurance company for a variety of stupid reasons, and these "disease management services" are nothing but a ploy to gather info on you so that in the future, should you need to use your insurance in a big way like for an operation or for cancer, they may find some tiny little thing in your health history that you've provided so diligently and deny your insurance claim. In the USA, hang up on the b*****ds. At a minimum, you should NEVER "confirm" or give out personal info to a stranger who calls you.

Nonsense! If a stranger calls, you should never "confirm" or give out personal info. If you are interested in Cigna's service, then you call them but you should NEVER "confirm" or give out personal info to strangers who call you.

All of these messages are really dramatic. It is Cigna calling offering disease management services. They help make sure you are doing okay managing a chronic disease. They are a resource if you want to learn more. I get to talk to a dietitian for my gastroparesis. It is a healthcare service, so, of course, they ask some personal information to verify. They are not asking for your account and routing number. Please relax.

These people called my business and when I asked them to take my phone number off their calling list, the woman told me, "that's not going to happen".  Unbelievable.

You know, these calls are from health wellness people including nutritionists, nurse practitioners, etc.  If you have coverage, talking to these people on a regular basis lowers your out of pocket co pays and costs you pay for your prescriptions.  I talk to them every time and I get more than half of my medicines for free!  It is part of your insurance coverage, why not take advantage of it?

The number belongs to CIGNA, as other reporters have indicated.  Nothing more than an annoyance call.

Survey
Yes, like many others have said, this is Cigna calling about their WellAware program or whatever it's called. I'm not a happy camper that they called my work number. Take me off your calling list! thanks!

Survey
In my opinion-- these calls are a feeble and irritating attempt to monitor Cigna policy holders.  It is one thing to call WellAware if you have a question, but quite invasive the other way around -- (when they call just to chat).   We pay $ for the insurance and  don't have to accept this "fringe benefit." Corporate "Big Brother" is watching .... We already get frequent Cigna junk mail.    If I feel under the weather.  I'll call my doctor, thank you.

Event Reminder
This is a health insurance contractor.  If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or the like, this company contacts you periodically to see if you are following the guidelines so that you don't have to pay more than a promised amount (often times an amount below your co-pay - i.e. some diabetes prescriptions are free).  If you do not answer or do not get back with them, they disenroll you and you have to pay your co-pay or higher.  DOB info is public record.  Bank account info is not...don't be paranoid, be smart.  You should know what information should or should not be part of public record.

This is CIGNA Insurance.  The nurses call if you are enrolled in their health insurance.  If you have an specific illness (I have Diabetes), they will call to see if you are ok, if you have any concerns, or if they can help you with anything.  They have been calling me for years.  You can opt out and not receive the phones.  This not a scam.  They ask for your DOB so they know it's you.  Your DOB is public information.  They are not asking for you SS#, so relax.

I have insurance with Cigna so I called the 800 number. The person I spoke with called the number and said it was part of Cigna but they operate on their own. They claim they never ask for a birthdate or SS # But they say they would remove my name from their call list and send me an email confirming this. I would suggest you do the same.

I would say that this company is NOT legit!  I just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  They identified me by my first name only, then went on to say that they were calling due to a request I had made to be contacted regarding credit card debt consolidation.  I informed her that I never requested to be contacted about anything and to take my name off of their calling list!  I have not requested to be contacted for any reason, and if I did I would NEVER give out my cell phone number!  I have a feeling they call random cell phone numbers, and at some point got my voicemail which gave them my first name.
