It is VERY important that you do NOT connect your computer back on the internet. If you use that computer for banking, paying bills, financial information - of any kind - contact your bank & tell them what happened. They will probably have to issue you a new credit card, or bank account, if this is what you use the computer for. When I say call your bank now - I mean now!

I'm so stupid.  I got a call at 5am about my pc saying they were microsoft and my pc had been hacked.  I let them in and then when he wanted my credit card I realized something was wrong.  I upplugged my pc and called my daughter andthen microsoft.  they cleaned my pc and loaded a new security program.  I have no idea what they got off my pc.    They loaded some type of icon called Go To assist on my desk top.  why can't someone do something about this?  i called the police and they can't do anything.  I called a private detective and she referred me to this link.  He gave the 315-277-2278 but my caller id showed 512-365-3277.  Is there anyone that we can file a complain with.  The investigater said it with Band wiath.com

I just rec'd a call from a woman claiming I had malicious junk files, screaming at me in the phone to tell me I will be blacklisted and my computer wont work and will be shut down when I get home cause I cant get to the computer to fix it. Said I had many windows infections. Name was missy hopkins and her call back number she gave me was 315-277-2278. I am glad I did not give her any info, though I can tell you she was very animated in the severity of my "infection".  Glad I checked out this number on here and will report to authorities either way.

He said he was James Anderson and that there where programs that where not viruses on the computer. I played along with the internet turned off until he asked me to type a tiny URL address into the run box. He wouldn't give a way to connect without a tiny URL , he gave the 3152772278 number as a call back. Obviously a loud sweatshop in india.

Just got a call from this number and hung up on him and he called back saying he was from Microsoft help desk and my computer was going to crash. I told him I would take care of it and he kept insisting that I couldn't. He gave me the number and told me to call back and ask for Michael. When I asked what country he was from he told me Brooklyn!!

The telephone number 315 277 2278 is connected with a scam group from India.  They call from tel # 212 963 8520 that shows up United Nations on the caller ID.  The caller says they are techs from Microsoft Windows. They give 315 277 2278 as a callback to confirm their identity number.  Both numbers are the same HACKERS. They try to get you to hold the CTRl R button down and put a code in the box, Do Not Do This!! It will allow them to control your computer and they will steal your information, add viruses that only they can remove and hold your system hostage until you pay them by wiring money.  I was told this by DELL when I was lucky enough to get through to DELL b4 giving in to the preasure of the hackers posing as Microsoft.

i got a phone call from this number, asking me to run somekind of program on my computer and to give them my credit card information, they said that they are calling from microsoft.

I received a call from this number. I could barely understand the person. They could provide no proof of who they were but said they were Microsoft support. They kept asking me to do something to my computer saying that they were receiving error messages from my computer. He could not tell me what we were going to accomplish or provide any form of identification. I called back the number. The guy just said "yes" but did not identify themselves as any company and they said they did not call me.  I would avoid doing anything if this number calls you.

Just got the same call while having breakfast but refused to switch on my computer. Thought it was a scam.

You were correct to ignore her request but there is not much the police or federal authorities can do about these foreign scammers.  She lied about receiving error messages since that is impossible.  Even Microsoft only receives error reports if you allow them to be sent when the pop up window appears and those are sent anonymously.  They also only relate to errors in Windows or Microsoft's applications and have nothing to do with viruses or malware on your computer.  Microsoft also has a warning about this type of scam on their website:

Just received a call from this number from a 'Nancy Brown'  a very east Indian woman who was from Windows technical support.  She never said she was from Microsoft, she knows better than that.  She wanted me to let her on the background to check the error messages they were getting from my computer.  Really??    Since when has Microsoft and Windows ever called anyone for stuff like this.  
You could hear the sweatshop in the background.  I asked for her name and number and told her I would call her right back, but instead called the police department.

I got a call from someone saying they were a Microsoft tech and I foolish let them into the background of my computer.  When they wanted money to update the certificate I realized I had been scammed and didn't give them any credit card nos.  Told them to call me back later.  The name of the person supposedly was David Williams but very strong accent that was not American.  Called and reported to Sheriff's dept.

Called here twice from this number ... a James Alex Parker... Technician from Microsoft Windows Service...stating that he wanted me to be aware that online error signals showing malicious programs into my computer were noticed... I got his name...lol... number...lol and did NOT provide any personal information OR turn my computer on for him.  Glad to know this is bogus!
