I just googled this number that was called on my landline on 12/16. Apparently it`s from Nextel Communication, inc., located in Shelbyville, Indiana. We need to rid these parasites from invading our lives for good, people! Whatever happened (again I say this) to the " DO NOT CALL" list?..................

ADT feeler calls. Trying to sell you a security system.

Every day, make it stop. We are a company line and it's just aggravating.

Put your cell phone on the Do Not Call list. that will give you moe of a legal footing to have the number shut down.

These scammers don't care about any do not call list, because they are criminals. Just don't answer any calls from numbers you don't recognize. Legitimate callers will generally leave a voicemail. The telescamarketers generally don't.

Repeated phone calls from this number are illegal after you specifically tell them these exact words: "Please put me on your do-not-call list." This is a federal law. Additionally, they cannot legally call you before 8:00 AM or after 9:00 PM, and telemarketers must volunteer their address or phone number during the call. Each violation can result in a civil penalty of $500, payable to you. If you want to press charges, record each call.

The Federal law governing telemarketers is the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (TCPA) 47 USC Section 227. Details are provided by the Code of Federal Regulations 47 CFR Section 64.1200.

Press 9 on an illegal and unwanted telemarketing call to be removed from their list?
Why not just confirm your telephone number is valid and answered by a person?
I bet you are the one down voting all the other comments pointing out these calls are illegal, unwanted and oh so very annoying.

Same security system scam, different number.
Illegal telemarketing calls. Nothing you can do about it.

I fyou ahve a cell phone, use a program called Mr. Number. I like it because you have the option to tell it to answer and hang up immediatly. Or you can tell it to force straight to VM and etc. You can exclude area codes and other numbers starting with any number.
But in the history of telelmarketers, if you hit 9 to remove your number, what you are in fact doing is acknowledging that your number is active. They usually get paid by the number of calls they make, not by the sells that they make. Play it smart, just ignore the number, there are other apps out there that you can use as well. But Mr. Number works great for me.

Just hit 9 to be taken off their caller list

The system tells you to hit 9 to be taken off the call list, simple fix.

I'm not positive, but I don't think these calls are illegal. Annoying, yes, but not illegal.
In all likelihood when you install an app on your smart phone, especially a free one, you are agreeing to allow telemarketers to call. I could be wrong, but it shows the importance of understanding what you are agreeing to when you install apps.
I get this one from time to time. I never answer my phone if I don't recognize the number.

This number has called my office direct line several days in a row now. Never leaves a message. So annoying! I am sure it is a telemarketer as I get a lot of those calls on my office phone.

Got a call from this number, waited about 6 seconds, no voice so I hung up and added to my Android's call reject list.

Folks, please pay attention: if you think that posting your complaints, and making requests to have your numbers removed from any list on this forum is going to work, you're sadly mistaken. These telemarketers don't care if you're on the Do Not Call List; they don't care if you don't want them to call; they don't care if you call them names or hang up on them. They don't care if it's illegal. They are relentless. They will never stop. Best advice? Put your phone on silent, and never answer it. If someone wants to reach you that badly, they will leave a message.

They just called, but ignored as I was unfamiliar with the number. No message was left.
| Maria 2013-12-17 22:35:29 Unknown |
Just called me several times in the middle of my class. I press "decline" - they call again in a few seconds. Grrr! Are they even allowed to call my cell?

This phone # among others has called my cell phone in the evening 3-4 times in the past 6 weeks. The automated message says in the most startling male voice says something like, The FBI reports there's a break in every so many seconds. If you'd like a free home security system press 1 & if you'd like to be removed from their calling list press another number. The first time they called, I pressed the option to be removed from their calling list. The 2nd-4th time (with the 4th time being at 6:26pm this evening), I pressed option 1 to be transfered to someone. Each of these times I told the representatives I didn't press the option because I was interested but because I'd previously selected the option not to be contacted anymore & they continue to call me. They apologize, say they've removed me & promptly hang up. With every representative I've spoken with having a foreign accent, I tend to doubt their in Indiana. Next step, reporting them to the FCC because I shouldn't have to keep asking to be removed from the calling list when I didn't ask to be called in the first place.

Calling my cell phone with no idea why. Won't leave a message.
