Received text from this number stating they were buying their boyfriend a bike this week and wanted to know if the photos she was sending showed the same Harley.  Glad I checked this site.

Posted an ad on Craigslist. Was texted from this number 318-787-0056. It said "Hi saw your bike ad, my husband wants on like this<pic-att>. With other needless babble. Figured it as a scam, glad I checked before replying or downloading.

Got the exact message after putting ad on craigs list..... will be blocking that number

I got the same message in response to my wanted ad. It is sad to get your hopes up for what you think you may be able to get and then it's just a scam. I hope with these posts they are able to find the responsible person(s) and give them what they deserve...

Really sad. I got the same message in response to my wanted add  (being a disabled low income person needing colostomy bags donated). thats really messed up and must be a scam to respond to my message for help and using this.

Same here just got a text from that same number looked it up and its in a different state.... SCAM I just hope it doesn't mess with anything on my phone dont download GIMP or this address

I just got a message form the number 318-787-0056 and it said " Hi, regarding the Wanted as on craigslist does this work for you: <pic-attach> http://photo-host.net/?photo=686WTX PhotoID 686WTX. If so lets talk." I figured I would download the Gimp viewer, but I downloaded it from the actual Gimp site and I know my husband has it and it works. But I further investigated the number finding it in LA, which in my mind is red flag #1 then I looked up the entire number coming across posts that it has been reported. And I'm here in Idaho.. I mean come on folks... How stupid do you think us Americans really are..

Folks, some additional information.  Yes, if you do a posting to craigslist in the barter section, you may get a response from 318-787-0056.  It will suggest you go to a website to view photo's.  Photos will not be viewable. If you do this from your PC, you will get an offer to download a viewer.

Suggestion is that you do not, or if you have, uninstall the SW and run a virus scan.  Its malware with tracking functions.

Got a text from this number that I could not do anything with.  Glad I couldn't after reading all this other stuff.

I got the same message late last night, luckily I am an I.T. tech for a government agency, I think it's time to turn up the heat on this.

Exact same message as everyone else - posted a "wanted" ad on Craigslist & almost immediately received this text message.  From Louisiana - stupid - I live in Oregon!

I also got a text from number 318-787-0056. This is what the message said:

"Hi about your *wanted* ad in craigslist, will this work for you? [pic-att] http://photo-host.net/?photo=686WTXPhotoID 686WTX. If so its yours."

The message seemed suspicious, first and foremost because it didn't mention any details of what I wanted. I figured I'd wait till I got home. I googled the number the message was from and found this comment feed. I am in Oregon, for the record. I would assume people in other places are getting responses from this number as well. Hope this helps!

I got a text from number 318-787-0056

I had a post on craigslist for barter and also received pics some one sent me from craigslist to my phone that they wanted to barter I couldnt download if with my phone said it wasn't compatable I needed to veiw pics from a desk top. I forwarded that message to my desktop and got the same thing. I think that some kind of virus might have been planted in my computer. Beware of this phone number  # 318-787-0056.
