I'm Britain I to sell on gumtree and viva street I to have tried to be scammed via email buy a Paige Julia email address dunnowotdo@googlemail.com tried making me join paypal then I refused but suggest I use my mums I don't have one then my mum started getting all theses fake emails saying this lady is ready to sue paypal and my mums account closed down the scammer does not address any of my concerns in correspondences and just insists I follow the link paying western union £100 in Nigeria

Paigge Huston also emailed me. and then i reported to the singapore police but they are not doing anything about it. i got scammed about 400 or 500. told me to send the money via western union to a malaysia post office and this happened few months ago. and just few days ago, i received a fake paypal service by email address: paiggehuston@gmail.com..and then i googled her email and found this website. like wow. at least now I can say im not the only one having this s****y problem if police ask again.

Yeah same story for me, she offered more money than what the voucher I was selling was worth, paige said that a courier would come pick up the voucher, and sent me a fake email that looked like one from paypal. the email contained details to a malaysian account, where it said to deposite money at western union so money could be cleared through papal (or something along those lines). It easy to tell it was suspicious and that this person is an idiot.

Paige said because their boss won't let them use their phone at work that email was the only contact they could make, when I was selling my voucher on gumtree. After a couple of emails and realizing I was getting played. I began to ask heaps of questions to waste Paige's time. Continually asking why we can't organize payment in Person and that i would deliver anywhere as she claimed to be a melbourne resident. The excuse was now that she was in the army and was deployed and they were out camping.

Long story short avoid this person. Or like I have ask heaps of questions and enjoy the lame excuses that this person makes up.

Just glad I had the common sense to say "gone too far.. way too suspect"

If you're reading this, you've obviously worked out the same.

Have instructed paypal.
Luckily my partner works for IT journalism so should get a good story out of it.

Kindly get back to me with answers to the following questions below

1) What is the condition?
2) Are you the Owner?
3) Pick up Location address for me to forward it to the pick up agent for them to schedule time and the date for the pick up?
4) Your Registered PayPal Name and Registered PayPal Email Address for me to proceed with the payment?

I would be glad to make the payment immediately through PayPal so kindly get back to me with your registered PayPal name and registered PayPal email address for me to proceed with the payment as I am unable to mail a cheque or do a bank transfer (sorry about that). You need not to worry yourself about the shipping, I will instruct the shipping company to handle that and they can meet you at anywhere of your choice to pickup. well they are still doing it the same story and name Paigge Huston etc etc
asking about items on gumtree this is the second one in two days yesterday it was : James Wayne" with another bogus story

I too have received SMS from this number, strange not to mention artical by name. I don't reply to anyone who sends SMS and asks to be contacted outside of Gumtree protocol, saves heart ache

I just received the exact same email! I am devastated! There is no way they can access my paypal or anything is there? I am way too trusting and feel like such an idiot right now :o(

I too am going to be contacting Gumtree and reporting them. I also emailed Paigge (Paige) and told her/him how disappointed I am that someone could treat people like this and I hope they sort their s*** out and become a better person. I am all about happiness and honesty and this is very upsetting! wow!

I received a SMS from a Paigge Huston.

I replied to a SMS from Paigge Huston today in regard to my Gumtree Ad. She wanted to know about the Home Stuff!!. And to contact her by email. I thought the wording was very odd but I replied by email anyway and this is what I received back that really made me think it was a SCAM!....

I am contacting GUMTREE and reporting them.

I posted an ad on Gumtree last night and just received the same message other people have noted.  Luckily I searched the name and found this forum or I might have followed up.  The message came from number 0013194628733 - it was the number that initially raised eyebrows. Not a normal Australian mobile no listing. The message said "Hi, about your home stuff for sale on gumtree, what's your final price, please ONLY reply to my email at paiggehuston at gmail.com due to my job, Thanks, Paigge".  The way the message was written, the strange spelling of the name, and the vague reference to the items I had for sale all sounded strange.  Hit delete would be my recommendation.

I put up an item for sale yesterday on Gumtree and today received a text message from Paigge Huston. She also asked what my final price was & asked me to reply to paiggehuston@gmail.com due to me job. The red flag for me was she called my item "home stuffs" - which I found very ODD.
Anyway I did a google search - luckily - and found out it is a scam - & will not be responding.
Is there anyway to let Gumtree know about these people?

I received a SMS from a Paigge Huston also (No 0013194628733) re a product I put up for sale on Gumtree.  I was asked for a final price and to only respond via email due to her job claiming she could not take any calls.  I responded via email with a price only to receive a email from her saying she would like to proceed with the purchase.  What made me think twice about this one was that her name was now spelt Paige not (Paigge) as per her originial SMS..  Surely you should know how to spell your name??  I got the long winded story how she wanted this purchase for her brother (suprise gift) and she would make arrangements via a shipping company to pick up the product.  She asked me to provide her with my Paypal Name and registered Pay Pal email.  This she repeated 3 times in the email.  Clearly she got nothing. When you see this name I suggest hit the "DELETE" button.

GOT AN SMS FROM THIS NUMBER (UNDER THE NAME PAIGE HUSTON) "GET BACK TO ME WITH YOUR FINAL PRICE"  AND TO "E-MAIL ONLY" WHICH I DID. SAID SHE WANTED THE BIKE FOR THE ASKING PRICE HOWEVER WAS AWAY FOR 9 WEEKS AND WOULD "ARRANGE A SHIPPER TO CONTACT YOU AND PICK IT UP."

REQUESTED I SET UP A PAY PAL ACCOUNT OR GIVE MY BANK DETAILS FOR THE PAYMENT DIRECTLY INTO MY ACCOUNT...

DODGY DODGY, DO NOT RESPOND!!!

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS PHONE NUMBER AS THIS PERSON WILL PRETEND TO BE INTERESTED ON YOUR ITEMS AND WILL ASK YOU TO EMAIL THEM AND THEN YOU WILL BE SURPRISED THAT YOU WILL NEVER SEE THIS PERSON PHYSICALLY INSTEAD HE WILL REQUEST TO HAVE YOUR ITEMS SENT TO ANOTHER PLACE FOR PICK UP AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT HE'S TAKEN YOUR GOODS AS WELL AS YOUR MONEY.
