i just got the same thing just now....

on do not call list, still receiving these calls

called me at 9:22 am today - I didn't pick up but called the number back and a recording said it was "Customer Service".  If I wantred my number removed- to enter it and confirm. I did that and the recording then said I would be removed from their call list within 2 business days - so we'll see

Has called twice a day for the past several days... no message.

Same silent nothing. I'm in Canada so a US newspaper subcription or Verizon would be an odd one

Got two call today around 9 am. I didn't pick up. No messages left

This number calls me EVERYDAY!! I never answer it.

Called several times while I was away. When home, I picked up and a recording said that this was a verification of my number and disconnected. The next day, they called again and a woman said she was calling to verify delivery of my new phone book from Verizon. I told her I got it, but had to chuck it because it was soaked. She told me I would receive a new one within 48 hours. (Tomorrow.) So for me, this was a welcome call. This number is evidently that of a service hired by legitimate companies.

Finally decided to answer. the woman wanted to confirm my recent newspaper subscription.

Has called me 3 times in past 2 days... twice in the morning around 10am CST and once around 6pm. No message left.

I got a call from this # this morning at 1014 and yesterday. I did not pick up and no message was left

susan scott from the dallas morning news was calling from this # to confirm my newspaper delivery.

(323) 208-3807 also called me this morning EST 9:34, left no message. I didn't pick up.

CAlled me today at 10 am no message I called them back and it said if you would like your number remvoed enter it so I did and I confirmed it with a person and they will not be calling anymore...this was the first time they called

This number has called me three times in the  last two days. I have yet to answer.

Got an automated msg about it being a verification.  it started to read off numbers and I hung up on it.

I have received five calls from this number (an automatic answering machine says "customer service")in the past two days.  They say to type in my phone number if I want to be removed from the calling list.  Unable to speak to an agent.  Very suspicious.

They called, and the Caller ID said "Verification number..." or something like that. I picked up, said "Hello," and I heard a click as they hung up.

I am suspicious of this.

I got a call from Monica from IDR (Independent Somethingorother Research)
she was checking to make sure we received our 2008 Verizon Telephone Directory.  I don't think we got it.  She had some of our mailing address wrong.  I confirmed with her that there would be no charge for it.  She said it was free and we should receive within 48 hours.  Very interesting.

i got the call too several times.  no voicemail left.  i haven't answered.

I have received three calls from this number is the past two days both during the day and in the evening but have not answered it.  Who is it and where is it coming from?
