Telemarketer
A "Sam Logan" called saying he was from SLK Media Group about someone named Tommy wanting to use his company's service for TV commercials. He said they were located in Rochester Hills, MI yet gave me a Los Angeles area code stating they have two offices in both locations? The whole thing was very sketchy, especially when he said this Tommy person called from our office and emailed him from a company email. We don't even employ a man by the name Tom, Thomas, or Tommy. When I asked the woman who works with our outsourced marketing company, she said she never even heard of SLK Media. When I repeated that to this "Sam Logan" he immediately stated he was "offended" that we have never heard of his company and that Tommy said the owners were extremely excited to work with SLK Media. I finally just said I'd take a message and find out what was going on because I found it extremely disturbing someone is using our company phone and email who isn't employed here. He kinda scoffed and said okay and hung up.

The number is registered with Bandwidth.com meaning that it's a VOIP line, and they could very well be calling from India.

Network Guy quote: "Received a call from this number from a person with a Middle Eastern accent wanting to know if I was having issues with slowness using my computer and that they were getting reports of errors coming from my PC. This person inferred that he was representing Microsoft."

I also received a call from 323-452-2345 on my cell (which I never provided during registration) and, I do believe, the very same guy. He made the same claim, that he represented Microsoft, and they were receiving error reports from my computer. I simply told him any errors reported by my puter are due to Microsoft 7 Home being a buggy, overpriced, PoS OS. I also told him no Microsoft employee would EVER make an unsolicited call to a customer, because they already have your money and they really don't care that much about you or your system beyond that.

After all that, he asked if I was at home or work and if there was a better time to contact me when I could be sitting in front of my computer. >.<

Surprised by his arrogance, or maybe it was his lack of verbal skills and the shocking inability to comprehend that he was being called out, I replied, No. There was no better time to try and scam me. I actually work for living and make an HONEST paycheck. Then I said I would be hanging up now, so I could report them as all my phone numbers are listed with the National Do Not Call Registry.

He still tried to set up a time to call me back. >.>

If you haven't done it already, I strongly advise anyone experiencing problems with unsolicited calls to register numbers here: https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx

Received a call from this number from a person with a Middle Eastern accent wanting to know if I was having issues with slowness using my computer and that they were getting reports of errors coming from my PC. This person inferred that he was representing Microsoft. I tried to get him to tell me the name of the computer having problems and what error messages were being reported. He was unable to give me the name or my IP address. Since I work as a network administrator I called him out over this claim as all of my computers run the Linux operating system, not Microsoft. The person then rushed me off of the phone quickly without any more questions. Probably a phishing scheme or scammer,
