I received an unsolicited text message from this number about lowering my mortgage payments.  I called the number back from a private line and the voicemail said "The voice mailbox you are calling for 'Stupid Telemarketer' is full.  Please call back later."  

At least they're honest about their abilities and professions...

Lower my Mortgage payments...

I am a T-mobile user and got two "Dear Homeowner" mortgage spam text messages in the span of 7 days. The messages are identical to those described above but from a different phone number with same area code: 323-236-7284.

This week they are targeting Tmobile users. I have received 6 messages so far this week.Tmobile users call your company and complain about all the unsolicited text messages.

Text for a Sports Bar in Huntington Beach CA called Sandbox Sports Grill. 1st drink free today between 1-4 if you show them the text.  No idea how they got my number.  This is the 4th text I have received from this number in the past couple of weeks.  I definitely won't ever go there now.  I don't deal with companies who intrude my life with text SPAM.

I called my service provider AT&T and was informed to text the word STOP and they are to honor that!

You may want to contact your service provider about blocking the number from calling or texting you if the STOP method does not work.

I hope this helps for this number or any other telemarketer that text you.

Regarding Facebook I am a Facebook user but I do not do quizzes nor did I provide my phone number when I signed up.  I think they are getting our numbers from the Do not call list as I recently added my cell phone number to the list.

Just happened to me tonight.  This can't be legal.  Texts saying, "Mortgage payment too high?  ...would you like to know more about this?"  If you are a sprint customer, it's pretty easy to setup a text block.  Called back, man's voice calling his voicemail of a "dumb telemarketer".

If your phone number is on your Facebook profile and you take quizzes or use Facebook apps, it's possible a malicious developer pulled your phone number and sold it to this spammer. I believe this is how they got my phone number and sent the message.

Probably won't do any good, but texted back to tell them not to try to solicit me this way.

I got the same message as above regarding the IRS.

The text I got was a little different...I got "Do you owe the IRS and can't pay? Government programs are now available to settle or reduce or eliminate your debt! May we give you a call regarding this?"  Still a scam though.

I just got a call about loan refinance from 323-895-0517 - stupid spammers!

My number is also on the do not call list. I received a text asking if my credit card debt was more than $10,000 and if they could call to discuss.

Unsolicted text: Ask if I have over $10,000 in credit card debt and if I would like to have my payments and interest rates lower.

I too put them on the do not call list, but it takes 31 days from what I read.  I am going to call Verizon, my cell phone carrier and see is something can be done.

Unsolicited, unwanted, spam text message.  Mortgage modification solicitation.

I went to AT&T's home page, looked up the 323-895-0517 number, and it is on the AT&T network, so call AT&T to report the phone number.  I just did. Explain to AT&T that the user of that number needs to be told to cease this illegal activity.  It's the same as receiving an unsolicited call when you are on the DoNotCall.gov list, which I am.  SPAM carry's heavy penalties in the USA.  Remind AT&T of this as well.  This is the also the same as email SPAM in the USA.  Unsolicited electronic messages are SPAM.  Also tell AT&T about this page and how many people are reporting the issue for the number 323-895-0517.
