I am thinking someone leaked my number to these solicitors.

Message from 330-689-8638 to call 877-891-9915. Got a you have a $200 rebate voucher text. Called them back from a different phone, and they said it was because I filled out a survey for Walmart 2 months ago. When I said no, I didn't, he still wanted to give me the gift card if I paid the $4.95 shipping and handling fee. I told him to bill me, but he could only answer with "I'm sorry" like he didn't hear me. I had to give up. Maybe next time...
I am too afraid to text back the Stop/DNC because I feel they wouldn't honor the request. Has anyone actually got them to stop texting?

PS - also got a text from 650-276-8569 a couple days ago to call 877-861-8581 for a $100 giftcard to Walmart.

Got a similar message stating

Also, when you google the phone number it shows some 22 year old kids myspace profile using listing the number as his contact number. He is from Ohio... My guess is that its computer hackers that can use others numbers and find yours through the internet. And walmart is a good cover because they are everywhere and alot of people shop there.

Followed usual process - look up unknown number here, confirm that it is spam/scam, delete without opening. Texting or calling back only confirms to these jerks that your number is valid and live - and you get sold/added to MORE lists.

Ignore, delete, get on with life. :)

received a text from 330-689-8638 saying to call an 877 number..if I get another one of these I'm going to hurt whoever is sending them within 5 business days

Got text message on cell phone from 3306898638 - saying to call 888-210-9445 for $200 Target gift card. Can just imagine that I may be charged for calling that number.
