My mom was likely fooled by the same people. They told a similar story and like you it wasn't that far fetched. They guy called and said they were coming to visit. My mom assumed it was my sisters boyfriend who is originally from Mexico. He called her a second time and said they had gotten in an accident and a young girl in the other car was injured. When my mom asked them to talk to my sister, the guy who was pretending to be my sisters boyfriend told her that she couldn't talk because she had a panic attack and had to be sedated. So my mom was very worried at that point and wired $1500 to the same person you did. Have you all reported this to anyone or gotten anywhere with it. I know we'll never see the money again but I don't want these people to continue to get away with this.

Received this call and a week ago.  Some one called in spanish and told us he was a nephew and he had an accident in Las Cruces  NM and he need money to pay for the damage done to that car which was new The problem was that we were waiting for a nephew to come to town. So we wired $1000.00 to Mexico. The next day the number called again and stated that  he had been stopped by a state pollice from Alb. NM  and while they checked  the vehicle for the car accident the decided to search the inside and that the nephew had a gun.  They stated they would call immigration and  send him back to Mexico and charges would be brought against him.  The nephew stated he had mad a deal with the state police and they wanted $3,000.00 to help him go.  But the money had to be sent to Juarez Mexico due to the police car had camers. We didnt think anything about it since lots of lawsuits are happening in Alb. NM for currupt officers.  $1,500 would be sent to Maxwell B Munoz Fernandez and $1,500 would be sent to Larci Marisela Garcia Garcia which were family members to the cops.  we were told state police would then escort them to us which is a 6 hr drive.  He should have arrived at our house at 5pm but about 4:30 we were called that the state police Major Juan Garcia Carillo would stop them and they repeatd to him the whole story so aparently all the cops were family members and now they wanted $4000.00 finally after lots of phone calls we called our nephew and he stated he was at home.  The next day they called to see if we could send $1000.00 instead of $4000.00 at this time we told them off and they never called back.  I feel Stupid they got $4,000.00 of my hard earn money. Do not beleive them no matter what!
