Debt Collector
It is not necessary that this be made public but my Name is: Dr. Angell O. de la Sierra, Esq.
My niece's son is an American citizen born in Barcelona, Spain. He is a PhD in Mathematics from MIT with residence in same Mass. area and travels as required by.his job. Currently he is taking care of his ailing mother in Puerto Rico. We received a strange phone call here in Deltona, Florida (386 259-4265) from 331-807-3856 asking for "Tio" (Spanish for Uncle) as my niece calls me. Since I only have nieces and only one has sons that young, with a Spain accent and strangely sound like the caller, I thought I was talking to my niece's young son. He said: "I am in Mexico and will stop in Florida to see about some land in your area." I replied that he could stay with us and would show him a lake front acreage he may be interested in. I asked about his mother and he replied that she was stable but still recovering slowly. This is the actual situation with my niece under special care at her home! He said he would call back right away to give me more details about the trip. Within 15-20 minutes he called again and sound worried and apologetic, he said he accidentally crossed a red light at the Mexican airport area and was detained and was assigned a lawyer to handle the case because of high alerts about narcotraffic, terrorist activities at the airport and said: "Here is the lawyer, he wants to talk to you". What followed was the the first chapter of the unsuspected extortion scheme libretto. He said in typical Mexican accent that he needed to deposit $1 K with legal Mexican authorities while an investigation continued. The money was refundable within a month and gave me instructions about money transferring procedure (at my request). The money was processed accordingly. Within a short time the same phone # called to inform me having received the money but apparently a new development had delay his departure. "He will explain, here he is.".My nieces, son explained.
Enter Chapter 2 of the extortion scheme: This was an Oscar winning performance! He was almost crying Nd said that when they open his hand luggage, they found some $10 K undeclared cash and was held under detention. "I didn't know I had to declare anything personal.", he said and asked for help again by depositing a required fee to liberate the money. We had to repeat same trip to the money transferring store, this time for $2,440.00. End of Ch. 2. Chapter 3 open with same story, this time a similar amount of undeclared cash found in the laptop by the x-ray monitor. This time we all got suspitious and began taking steps by asking for names, position, letting them know we were recording these conversation. Meanwhile, my daughters took notes and tried to contact my niece by phone. The same 'retained lawyer' begged me to warn young mathematician to tell the truth because those trying to help him were compromising their own jobs. They said they had arranged for the next flight to Florida and would take him to airport. That was a well rehearsed act! Meanwhile we were gathering data. Before we could contact my niece to see if she knew her son was traveling with all that money, etc., the SAME phone # called, this time from the flight departure area for travelers boarding American Airlines Flight # 319 with destination Daytona Beach arriving at 5:45 pm EST. The opening paragraph of this last Chapter of this tragic comedy featured my niece's son crying because he was detained again because he was running to catch the flight and accidentally hit a young girl with his hand luggage and she fell down the escalator and fractured the skull and was unconscious. Again the ubiquitous retained lawyer appeared, this time asking for a temporary settlement so he wouldn't lose his flight. He said that because there existed exculpatory evidence from the camera monitors that it was an accident, etc. He said he could settle for the hospital expenses only and insurance would return money anyway. Then my cell phone rang with evidence that the young mathematician was still in Puerto Rico alongside his ailing mother as usual. I warned the lawyer from the airport who quoted citations from the Mexican Constitution's provision to assist traveling passengers under Pena Nieto presidency, He was warned that we would turn to FBI authorities all evidence, including recordings we made during this costly saga.
Now we make same offer to you

Someone called our house phone just a few minutes ago claiming to be a cousin. It wasn't this number but instead: 331-807-7091. They were looking for my mom and knew both her first and last name. They said they were relatives on her side of the family, but wanted me to guess their name trying to make me feel bad that I had forgotten my "cousin." It was suspicious because 1) my cousins wouldn't play the guessing game for as long as this guy did 2) he spoke with a Mexican accent, and my family isn't from Mexico 3) my cousins refer to my mom by a different name, not the one they used. They finally gave me a name and I do have a family member by that name and I started speaking in English asking why he didn't tell me who he was at first. They completely didn't understand what I was saying and hung up. So annoying and scary. This is why I don't answer the house phone.

so we got a random call yesterday and it was a guy making my husband guess who he was. he eventually told him it was his cousin edgar and he wanted to come by before heading up to San Jose. he then calls me this morning saying he was held up by customs and needed 1,600 so he can cross over 26,000 that he was being detained for. i told him he had to speak to my husband about this. i then called my mother in law and told her the story we were given. she called her sister who called her son and found out it wasnt true. he kept calling and wanted us to speak to his lawyer so we can help him. my husband told him we called the police and gave them your info and he hasnt called back.

We got a house phone from this b*****d this morning! My mom answered and he once again played off that he was her nephew coming into town and would like to see the family. My mom just asked where he was coming from. He just said up north and wanted to stop by the house to rest from the long drive. My mom thought he was her nephew Tito because he sounded like him and when she asked him if it was him (knowing that this number was not Tito's) he played it off and said he was Tito. What a little scam! Then he called once again and my mom asked to speak with his mother and he immediately hanged up. If I would have picked up the phone, I would have automatically called him out and told him I was calling the Police. I advice to post this number on social networks so that people can know this scammer's number and warn them.

This man called my mother yesterday in the morning. He said "Tia, I am your nephew from Gonzalez family side guess who i am? claming that he was coming from arizona. my mom didn't know who he was but she react inmediatly and she played it off, since they had done it to my grandmother and uncle in Mexico already (diferent people, but the same premises). My mom said: "Jhonatan?", "He answer: Yes" and my mom asked him did you know that Tio Bartolomeo died? he answered i heard something about that. My mom doesn't have any nephews in Arizona by the name jonathan or an uncle bartolomeo but pretended she did to see what this guy wanted and how much he knew about our family. He stated he was coming to visit us, and proceeded to ask where we live to put it in his GPS. After my mom told him i dont have a nephew Jonathan or uncle bartolomeo he hang up. Our family just got this call too. Said he was my dad's nephew and tried to get my dad to guess his name. Luckily my dad is no idiot and did not throw out any names. After about a minute of trying to get him to say his own name, he finally just hung up!

This guy called first my aunt and got information from my aunt she is an elderly person. This guy then called my mother and said it was a nephew and when my mom ask him why he sounded different he sai he had the flu. Well this guy called my mother and said he was coming to visit. Then a few hours later said he had gotten an accident and had to pay the guy he hit. My mother was so worried and send them the money so this fake nephew could come visit her. She send him her savings money. Then he called back he had to fixed his car to get to her. She didn't send him anymore. This is a fraud and I can't believe people take advantage of elderly people and steel there money. Get a job instead of making easy money that won't ever last you.

They usually follow up with a second call, claiming that the mythical nephew/cousin/grandchild is (1) detained in customs and needs money, (2) in the hospital after an accident and needs money, (3) is in jail and needs bail money, (4) has been kidnapped and his captors need money.... you get the idea.
