Same thing happened to my family! Luckily we caught him lying. So we got a phone call around 10am & its from a young male saying in spanish "Hi Tia" (My mom answered the phone) & my mom replied who is this? & he said im your nephew the one that doesnt live in california so were like ooh ok its our cousin from texas. & we gave him a name -.- & hes like ill be there in 3 hours ok & were like ok then cool, he was going through puberty last time we talked so we didnt really pay attention to his voice lol. So an hour later he calls back saying he got in a car accident & the guy he hit was super mad & he needed money to pay him & thats where he messed up! haha, my cousin first of all can't drive to say his life & second his parents would never let him come alone. so my mom says your not my nephew & she told them him why & he just hung up. haha loser.

i just got a call from that number too and my mom answer it was like 7am and she was still sleeping when the phone rang. she answered and the guy said in spanish "aunt is this you?" and my mom asked who he was, then he said "u dont remember me anymore, u dont want me to come anymore, im your nephew from the navarrete's (our family name), who are your family and your nephews from the navarretes" and since my mom was half asleep she started giving names, he picked one which is my cousin from the US and he said that he was on his way to Tijuana and that he would call later. so my mom since she didnt really fell for it she called back and the same guy answered saying that he was that couisin and that he was driving here, it was confusing and at the same time he was speaking so calm so this time my mom fell for it. my mom started getting all happy and then he called again but this time I answered, he said, "hi tia" then i said "who is this?" and he said "im marcos from lucia (which is my aunt)" and thats when i knew that it wasnt him because first of all i know his voice and second my REAL cousin when he calls always recognizes my name and calls me flaca. I said "you're not marcos!!" and he hanged up. luckily we didnt get to the part where he could ask for money...im sooo glad you all have reported this number and i hope this could help someone else too!

I got the call at my house on Dec 2, 2011, the call came in around 7am, i saw the number on my caller id and I had no Idea who it was, when I answered , the mexican caller said" Hey Tio, guess who is calling from Mexico city? I mentioned my nephews name and he said it was him and that he was headed to Casa Grande to buy a car and that he would like to see me in Tucson, I told him call me at work, I gave him my number and then he asked for my cell number.
A few hours went by and a private call came coming to my cel # but I did not answer. A few minutes later the store receptionist told me there was someone babbling in Spanish on the phone, so I took the call, I always say my name when I take a call, the caller said he was my nephew and that he was in accident and that the mexican federales had him and he needed money for the victim of the accident, in this case a little girl, he was pleading , " Please Tio help me" the alleged Federal agent got on the phone and I dentified himself and wanted me to identify my nephew to him to make sure that he was who he said he was, me loke an idiot gave him my nephews nmae, then he asked me who his mom is and a few othere questions, I was falling for the story at this time, He told me there had been an accident and that money was needed for the medical expenses for the little girl, he wanted $5000, I told him I had only $2000. He gave me the name of the lady to send the money to, her name Faviola Sanchez Alcaraz in Uruapan Michoacan Mexico, he gave me an hour to get the money wired. As soon as I hung up I went to emailing my cousins and I had a friend from Mexico call that number to see if it was a real accident, I found my nephew on Facebook and he was home and safe. The Mexican crooks called me in an hour and asked me if I had the money, I told them I did but that they could keep the person they had in custody as he was not ny nephew, they said " You do not play games with Agentes Federales!" I said I have my nephew on the other line , do you want to speak with him, then they hung up.
The call did shake me up, Do not fall for this crap!

my family in mexico got the call anh he told same thigs to my cousen

We just got severals call from this number alleging he was our "cousin Carlitos" in Mexico. We aren't Mexican so we knew right away something was up. He kept asking us questions to get our personal information. Beware of this scam!

A man called asking for Maria and stating he was a nephew. When asked for his name he replied, one if the oldest. He kept trying to get names of relatives, but then stated his name was Pancho and he was going to surprise me by coming and visiting. When I asked what part of Mexico he was from, he replied, from where all our family is from. I replied, we have family everywhere, so where are you from. Then I told him that I had no relatives with the name if Pancho and he hung up. Be careful out there these people are just trying to get money.

I got this phone call, the man saying that he was my cuosin. Im like ok witch one, who are you? I ask. He says who do you think I am? I dont know who are you I said. and then he goes on asks questions like what am i doing,whos at my house and that he was going to come and visit.Questions that led to names, thats what this guy was after. Then uses those names as leverage to get money. I did not buy it. I have herd of this opreation before.

The same thing that happened to Terry happened to me. A man called me and told me he was my nephew and that he was coming to the US. He said he had just had an accident, and that a little girl flew out of the window and he needed $1,000 to pay for the damage. I didn't know this person, he was just trying to rob my money. We need to watch out for people like this, and any strange calls. Thanks to the internet, I had heard of cases like this. That's why now that this happened to me, I knew what this was about, and he didn't trick me. I don't know where to report the name that he gave me to send the money to. The name is Benjamin Mora Gutierrez, in Tijuana, Baja California.

This number was used on a phone scam attempt from Mexico. Someone claiming to be my cousin said they were in an auto accident and needed a $1200 money gram in an hour or he'd go to jail. SInce I don't really care for this relative, I decided to let him go to jail.
