This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

This happened to my mom today.  Several calls to her employer - tied up all 8 lines continuously.  My mom called the number back and the person who answered refused to tell her what company he was with. He demanded a minimum $100 payment via Instagram or told her the calls would continue. Will be reporting to the FTC & FBI as suggested.  Thank you TLP for confirming this is a scam.

This is a debt collector scam from India. Do not call them back. They target hospitals as well. They will curse at you, threaten your life and continually call your work place. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK. DO NOT ENGAGE THEM. They route their calls through this number in NC so that they will have a number in the US and seem legit. These people are DANGEROUS. If you get a call from them please contact the FTC immediately at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357). Also file an internet crime report with the FBI at www.ic3.gov.

These people call non stop for more than an a hour. over a 100 times in one hour. They said they said they were trying to contact one of my maid,  However when she called the number back, it went to a voice box. She does not owe anyone anything. I turned it over to the local authorities and they contacted the state police along with the North Carolina General Attorney's office.  I will pursue this until I shut them down. I know they are not in the states. The women who calls herself Karen can hardly speak English. They jammed my hotel business line for more than an hour. This should be considered a terroristic attack. I lost several room bookings during this attack. The local sheriff's office and state police are perusing the attack
along with the General Attorney's office in North Carolina. We'll see what happens.

Caller gave name of Karen Detray with the number 336-347-8952. When advised that the person she is looking for no longer works here, she insisted that we get in touch with her and have her contact them. Our phones are ringing off the hook! We run a business here and it is very disruptive. Please make them stop!

this person has called me to saying the same thing that legal matter but will not identify this is a defantily a scam. there is also another number that is doing the same thing here is the number 336-347-8956 and the 336- 347-8952  i think they are the same people one as noted is an indian  and is very rude and demanding

Calls repeatedly and asks for a person who is unavailable. Has been told multiple times that the person is unavailable. Most often calls in the evening, around 5pm, says her name is "Lisa Smith"

They are VERY rude, calling my place of work everyday looking for someone else. Calls back continuously even though that person is no longer here and they have been told that multiple times. No idea what it's about, just identifies herself as "Lisa Smith"

They call and call and call and don't tell u anything bout what they want. Very very rude an smart mouth with anyone they talk to.

This appears to be a fraud debt collector. He refuses to to ID either his firm or
the alleged creditor. He is aggressive, rude, and calls relentlessly. His phone
is unlisted - so I can't send a cease and desist letter. Now he is calling my place at
work. He has an Indian accent, and has a woman caller his assists him.

This caller has phoned relentlessly. Claims it's about a legal matter. Won't identify either
his company or the "so called" creditor. Has Indian accent , extraordinarily rude and aggressive.
His number is unlisted; so, I can't mail a cease and desist. I believe it is a fraud scheme, and now
he is calling my place of work.
