missed call

They call every few minutes. When I answer no one speaks. If I don't answer they leave no message. I am just home from the hospital after having gotten that contaminated steroid and had to have emergency surgery.. I do not feel like dealing with this mess. Is there someway to stop this?

they don't leave messages ... but they have called my number 10 times in less than an hour ...

I've gotten calls like this on my cell phone several times, usually from different numbers.  This time, though, I got it at work.  I'm on the Do Not Call registry and I still get them.  And you can't report them if you don't know the company name or location, or something like that.

"Con artists have to make a living too".. don't give us that garbage.

Our numbers are registered to the do not call list, and that isn't even the broken law that we're complaining about. Random, auto-dialed calls to numbers who never made their info public are a different thing, and a different animal entirely when it's a SCAM.

I should mention, my number is only 3 weeks old and I've given it to family members and the girlfriend, and close friends only.


@GP: I doubt that's how they got it, I think it's just random..but then again some people are getting repeat calls. Now.. only if there was a site like this for bad public service.

received a call at 3pm-ish est, Saturday, September 14th, 2007. Man.. I wish this site was around a few years ago.

I received a cell call from 336-506-6914 this morning but did not answer it. I have an Illinois number but i am staying in arizona temporarily. I only give my my number to friends but had to give them to tradespeople  here in arizona (last week) so they can contact me. Is this how the telemarketer got my number? Left no message.

(336)506-6914. Didn't answer this call b/c I didn't recognize the number. Googled, and found this posting board. Thanks so much for the Federal Trade Commission link. I'll go ahead and do that along with adding myself to the Do Not Call list.

This number just called my new GrandCentral number.  I answered, but there was no one on the line.  I think I can use GC's screening to send all 'no caller ID' incoming calls directly to a "this number is not in service " message.

CALL ORIGINATED FROM NORTH CAROLINA

this number called me with something in Spanish.  My phone is a cell phone.  Shouldn't this be illegal? It's wasting the cell minutes that I pay for.

Got a phone call from (336)506-6914. Was a prerecorded message in Spanish. Funny that everyone else is getting the same call....

12:15 pm (Eastern Time) ... received a recorded phone call (sounded Spanish, but was spoken too fast for me to understand what she was saying) to my cell phone.

Mere minutes before, a co-worker received a call from the same number (his phone number is 457 lower than mine), implying that they were just calling up the phone list.

Just got a call from this number, left no msg.

Just received this call on my cell phone, as did the others. There was a recording in Spanish. In my opinion, adding your cell number to the National Do Not Call Registry may not help stop these harassment calls as they are made by scam outfits looking to steal from you. They use sequential auto-dialers. Since they are low life crooks in the first place, they have no regard for the law. You might try making a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission at this link:

If many people enter details about this and all harassment calls, law enforcement will have additional evidence should these scam artists get prosecuted.

Just got a call from this number and googled it, funny to read all the posts complaining about it too. Just thought I'd add my name to list as well...
