Telemarketer - Something about mortgages.  They're on my blocked list.

Distress phone call purportedly from one of my sons.
DId not reply as didn't match any of their phone #'s.

My category for this type of phone call is "Scum'mers."

They just keep calling. How do I get them to stop ? It's nothing but harassement.

I am on the Do Not Call List.  I should not be getting these calls.

You are on the Do Not Call List ... And I used to believe in Santa Claus.  Look, you are still going to get a few cold calls from crooks.
Before the Do Not Call list I would sometimes get 6 calls a night, now I get maybe 6 a month.   It sort of works because most people follow the law.
The real way to stop all the rest of the crooks is to make the Phone Companies follow up on complaints about these guys and pull the plug.  They don't want to do it, and Congress won't make them because they lobby against it.   Get used to it ... things won't change for the foreseeable future.
It doesn't hurt to report them to www.donotcall.gov ... just don't expect miracles.

Same number, different ID...my caller ID said this caller is "OBAMA STIM" and when I answered it was a recording about mortgage refinance.

caller ID says debt b gone. I have received a few calls from this number over the past week or so. THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE

I got a call from this number and researching who they are.

Sick of these guys calling during or after dinner.  Robo-dial, hang up.  The next day get a "reduce your mortgage payment" robodial, or a "reduce your credit card interest rate" robodial.  Noone seems to do anything---FTC, AG, etc.  Would like to hire Uncle Break-a-Bone to pay them a visit one of these days.  What good is the DoNotCall list?  

What do we have to do to get enforcement out of the jerks that we hired and pay for with our federal taxes that sit on their fat a***s until their pension is collected, doing nothing but pushing paper back and forth?  What a waste of resources.

Received two calls now from  DEBT B GONE. The first time I hit 3, which was what they said to do if I didn't want any more calls. Today I hit 5 to "renegotiate my mortgage" (and by the way, I don't even have a mortgage, my house is paid for), and they said everyone was busy, leave them a message. So I did - and told them they were being reported, as hey didn't remove my number the first time, and I am on the DO NOT CALL list. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Debt B Gone is the latest in a series of harrassment telemarketer calls using the same reference number.  Looks like they are selling our personal information if they get no where.  I will report this number to FCC just as I did 262-995-9099 and 406-852-8377 who used the same reference number, but so far FCC has done nothing.  Am on Do Not Call list but that doesn't matter anymore.

A note to "Dave."  The Do Not Call List is NOT a scam.  It's a legitimate service.  If a company chooses to break the law and call people without using the list, then they are the scam not the service.  That's like saying the police are a scam because people still break into houses.

I have reported many numbers to Do Not Call.  Within months and sometimes as soon as weeks, they stop. I have also been contracted by them when they were doing a more in depth investigation of a boiler room operation.

So again, use Do Not Call and report people. Do Not Call is active and will work for you.

Oh and Dave, "hence I got a cell phone." That won't change a thing for scammers.  They will call that number too when they reach it through auto dialing. You really need to do your homework.

I just got a call from (339) 502-6709 and no one answered.  I'm also on the do-not-call list. They're scammers.

When I pick up the phone there is no one there
No recorded greeting nothing
Called back and got a "Press 1 if you want to be removed from our call list"

Once I saw who was calling, I just let it ring. I'ts just another scam marketing call

I'm so tired of receiving calls from scammers - i.e., 339-502-6709 - caller I.D. stated "OBAMA STIM".  I pressed talk, then "off" quickly.  This has stopped several other scam phone numbers from calling back.

Pretty much all those facts are wrong, especially taken to such an extreme.
Possible to websearch the guys govt has nailed, wish more were.  Rest is just hyperbole.

Sometimes when we answer the phone and are their live, and you hit the "opt out" option like (press 9 to opt out of further calls) you are telling the guy pulling the scam  "Here is a live one".
So I never do that

I got a call from this number 5/31, left my name and number. It is a recorded message which I have heard often and opted out several times only to be called again. On 6/1 Neil Phillips called from 619-245-4943. He said he was with All State Law Firm. They call for loan modifications. Told him I was informing the A.G. office and he aaked why. As I was explaining why he hung up on me. I plan to call Neil often and everyone else should too at all times of the day and night.

Received call from 339 # fron Canton, MA.  Did not pick up as I didn't recognize the #.  Noone left a message.  It was about 5:00pm on Monday evening.

When I answered, the caller would not respond and then hung up.

I have successfully sued telemarketers in small claims 3 times for calling my home phone number which is on the do-not-call list.  You must find out which mortgage refinance company they are calling for in your area.  That will be the company that you sue.  The law states that hiring a telemarketing company to make the calls is the same as their company doing the calling.  In the last year I have collected $8500. from these idiots in the past 13 months.  Most don't know that they're responsible for the call since they weren't actually the caller (they find out soon enough).  Go for it; It's well worth it and a lot of fun.
