I to have received the same phone call from this gentleman. He called me yesterday. I told him it was impossible for me to have a warrant out due to I do not live nor have ever been to New York. He said maam, there had been a complaint filed. I again informed him that I have never lived in New York nor have I ever visited and on top of it all, I live no where near there. He proceeded to tell me I understand that, and you currently reside in Radcliff, Canada. I politely said sir, nice scam but I've never been to Canada either.

I too received this phone call today only the gentlemen claimed he was Detective Marc Brown from the NYC PD.  He left a voice message on my home phone which I heard as he was leaving it.  He had a very heavy Indian accent with poor broken English.  The number showed it was from NYC however the number he left for me to call back had a totally different area code.  Of course I knew there was no warrant for my arrest.  He actually called back 2 hours later but did not leave a message.  I called my county sheriff dept and a deputy came to my house to listen to the message.  He then called the guy back and the guy actually spoke to him and told him he was with the Rockland Co Sheriff in NYC..  The guy even gave the deputy a bogus badge # and assured the deputy that he was at work at Rockland Co at that time and that if the deputy called he could get him.  Once the deputy informed him that he believed he was pulling an illegal scam the guy promptly hung up.  The nice deputy then called Rockland Co PD in NYC and spoke with a detective there.  Of course there is no Mark Brown.  He made them aware that there is a fellow using their name a trying to scam people out of money.  They are aware and are investigating.  This scammer is somewhere in the Virgin Islands and nowhere near NYC.  Don't be fooled.

If you send me the Moneypak instead, I'll do the same thing for you for 10% less than whatever "3472987648" offers!  The more you owe, the more you save with me!  But hurry -- this special offer is only good for 4 hours or until the police arrest me, whichever comes first.

I got the same call and was told to send a moneypak and so I contacted my lawyer and my lawyer said don't send any money without paperwork showing if I owe something. So when 3472987648 called back I asked him to provide me with paperwork so I could see what I owe he couldnt do that and said he would send a certified statement showing that my debt was paid after I sent the moneypak and it cleared.

i also received multiple calls from this number.  he identified himself as david marshall from ny sheriff's department.  same thing about an arrest warrant and owing on a payday loan.  when i questioned him, he said he was from rockland county office, who i called and they had no clue who he was.  he told me that i owed cash advance usa...which i don't.  he also referred me to a "lawyer" named daniel scott....who sounded just like this guy.  when i told him about calling the real rockland county sheriff's office, he said there were 11 rockland counties in ny.  he also said his "business" address was 25 butler street, ny, ny 11369.  that address does exist, but not the correct zip code.  they called from 347-478-7514 and 505-3982025.  BEWARE!!!!!!

He called me and said he was Sheriff David Marshall :)  He said that a sheriff was ready to arrest me for fraud.  He said I needed to send him a MoneyPac in order to clear the charges.  Haha!  Yeah right!  He gave me an address to send the MoneyPac payment to.  It was 25 Butler St, New East Elmhurst, NY 11369.  He said it was his sheriff headquarters.  When I google Earthed it it was a ghetto street somewhere in New York!  Dont believe him and dont give him any of your information.

Got the same phone call today. I missed the call but got the voice message. I was in shock when I heard that there is a warranty issued for my arrest. The caller speaks broken English with a terrible accent and I couldn't tell if it was a She or He. I immediately called an attorney and got some advice before calling the person back. I asked the self-claimed sheriff from New York to send me a legal notice for my crime. He/She told me it would be defamation of character for her/him to send me any paperwork etc...It just sounds very bizarre...but at that point, i pretty much knew that it was a scam...i might go down to the police department to file a complaint...

got the same call... this is the second one I've received this month, so my number must be making the rounds on the scammers... my local phone company told me I could block the number by dialing *60 then inputting the number, I've done this twice and reported them to the local police. Waiting on the local police to get back to me for a report so that the phone company can prosecute them.

Here is some information that the other number I received a call from Googled site had:

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1.    The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2.    Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3.    File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4.    File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5.    File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)

I received a call from the same person saying the exact same thing. Said I owed a payday loan, something that I have never got. He also said there would be a warrant out for my arrest if I didn't pay it. When asking for the company that I supposedly owe it to he replied that he could not tell me that. I also ask him if he could send me papers so I could see the bill. He also said no again. I ask him if he pays things without seeing a bill first, he did not answer me. He finally hung up on me.   Recalled me 3 days later and ask if I had sent the money and ask where I was. I replied at my attorneys, he hung up.

Said he was "Detective Morse" or "Morris" with the NY Sheriff's Department.
Said an arrest warrant had been issued on me due to a payday loan.
I have had Pay advance loans in the past, but they are all now paid off and done with.
I am not in default or owing anything.
I told him to hold on the line and I would conference in the local FBI
office.  That they would be interested in the scam he is running.
I then hung up.
